Quinn waited as the years went past, her black hair growing longer. She always cut it off mid back length, not wanting it to get too long. She had gotten a horse in this time, who was named Sahara. Beautiful Morgan mare. The girl checked her messages every day.. and they kept getting smaller and smaller. Soon she never heard From Oliver anymore and a deep sadness filled her, under laying all other emotions. One day Quinn woke up and realized it was her 18th birthday. She got out of bed, putting on her normal black, boot cut jeans and black t shirt, putting her hair in a ponytail. She knew Oliver had a long drive, so she hopped on Sahara and went for a ride. Over a year they had bought 60 more acres, and now had 100 acres to ride on. Quinn galloped Sahara across the fields, her heart feeling as if was going to burst. She barely even remembered what Oliver looked like... and she was sure he had changed considerably. Her phone suddenly buzzed, and she glanced at it. Immediately she turned Sahara and galloped her faster than ever before towards home. Quinn jumped off, running into the front yard and stopping when she saw Oliver standing there with balloons, flowers, and a present. Quinn's eyes sparkled happily. She ran to him, throwing her arms around him in a giant hug, feeling as if she might never let go.

Oliver laughed and wrapped his arms somewhat around her before she took her small step back so he could get a look at her. "Wow look at you!" He chirped happily. He hadn't changed much... maybe a little more muscled... and groomed but that was for the occasion... his hair was combed neatly and he was wearing a nice jacket, pants and shirt "Happy Birthday." He cooed happily kissing her forehead glad that he could finally do that without getting into legal trouble "Come on open your present." He said happily offering the small box to her "Had to save up for quite a while because it's custom but when you told me you'd gotten a horse I had to get it for ya..." he said. Inside was a horse necklace customized with her horses name on it "Well? Do you like it?" He asked.

Quinn grinned. "Look at you!" She responded, laughing. She felt so overjoyed to hear Oliver's voice again and to see him. Suddenly Quinn heard a small whinny. There was Sahara, standing there with her reins still over her head. Quinn chuckled. "Good horse." She smiled, then looked back as Oliver gave her the present. She opened it, seeing a small necklace with Sahara's name on it. "Do I like it?" She said in awe. "No, I don't like it. I love it! It's beautiful!" Quinn ran her fingers over the smooth metal, smiling. "Thank you so much!" She said, feeling just ecstatic. This HAD to be the best day of her LIFE. She heard another small nicker and giggled slightly, walking over to Sahara. "One moment, Oliver." She tipped her head to the boy, leading Sahara back around the back of the house. She out the horse in the Stable, taking off her tack and brushing her down. Edited at April 4, 2023 11:34 AM by Wild Warmbloods

He laughed at her his eyes full of adoration and love before he noticed the horse "Well hey there..." he said offering his hand to her keeping her in the corner of his eye while Quinn opened her present "I'm glad!" He chirped "You're more then welcome" he said happily setting the flowers and balloons back in his car and following her with a smile leaning on one of the stalls and watching her "Anything I can do? I mean you know I haven't really ever been around a horse before but still." He chuckled.

Quinn glanced back at him. "If you could grab that brush there and brush her other side, that would be great. She's good with little kids, so I'm sure she will be fine with you." Quinn teased, pointing to the right brush. She showed him his to do it. "Stroke smoothly but quickly in the direction their hair lays. You will be fine!" She smiled, going back to the other side and finishing up. Once she was done with that Quinn put some hay in her horse's stall, made sure her water was full, and turned to Oliver. "I still have a couple hours till my birthday party." Quinn told him, scrunching her face slightly as to know WHY her mom INSISTED on throwing her a birthday party. "Anyway, what do you want to do till then?" She smiled at the boy while petting Sahara.

Oliver gave a nod "Alright i'll give it a shot." he chuckled grabbing the brush and double checking it was the right one before he got to work (even in his nice clothes) When they were finished he thought for a moment "I thought maybe we could do some lunch?" he suggested "I haven't eaten all day because I left pretty early and didn't have time to stop for breakfast." he admitted with a chuckle "Plus I have something exciting to tell you." he said happily.

"You haven't eaten all day?" Quinn asked. She rolled his eyes. "Well we had better get some food then." She smiled, patting the horse before holding the door open for Oliver, then shutting and latching it. She walked towards the back foot of the house, opening it for him. Quinn took off her shoes on a rug and walked inside, turning left into a spacious kitchen. "What would you like?" She asked, kind of just trying to be nice. She already really knew the answer, and got out a pan and some grease.

"No." he chuckled "Had to pack up and get here or else you'd of thought I wasn't coming!" he smirked "Keeping my promise was more important then food." he smirked before chuckling "You already know I want a grilled cheese... so why are you asking?" he teased "Add some tomatoes as always." he said happily "Thanks uh... i'm gonna go use the bathroom real quick but i'll be back." he assured her. When he returned from the bathroom he sat at the table "Sorry about this last week or so... you know what finals are like in high school good lord... you would have thought an art and culinary school would have been much easier not by a long shot..." he huffed with a shake of his head.

Quinn laughed, greasing the pan and buttering some bread. She nodded at his request, waiting for him to get back. When he did, she listened to what he said. "Its fine" Quinn assured him. She smiled. "You're here now, that's what matters." She flipped the grilled cheese expertly after having so much practice, making sure the toast was golden brown before putting the cheese and tomatoes on and letting it melt a little. The girl then gave the food to Oliver. "Tada, grilled cheese, at your taking." She teased, giving him some ketchup if he needed it. To be honest... she didn't really remember if he liked ketchup on his grilled cheese anymore. Quinn sighed, a little sad she really hadn't seen him in two whole years. "After you eat, I want to show you something. It isn't that far away." Quinn smiled, thinking about the place she found the first time she saw this house.

Oliver laughed smiling wide at the ketchup "I can't believe you still remembered that..." he chuckled pulling his sandwich apart into quarters and dipping it in, it was one of his weirder habits but he was impressed she remembered that. "Thanks" he chuckled before he started eating. Once he'd finished about half of it he looked at her and nodded before swallowing his bite down "Thats fine... I do have something to tell you though." he smiled "I will actually be in town for a while because I've got my first all be it small acting job." he smirked "Well before I pack up my dorm anyways..." he smirked.
