The mare took a few more steps towards the stallion, slowly to not frighten him. Her eyes landed on his wounds and her ears went back some, thinking about how much pain the stallion was in. Once she was a few steps away she let out a nicker as a greeting towards the stallion.

He tried to stay awake, observing the mare. Through all the pain, he barely heard her friendly whisker. The first words that escaped from his mouth were, "Excuse me a moment..." before all that weight crashed to the ground as he finally blacked out, not being able to stay awake any longer

He woke up a few hours later, blinking as the bright sunlight shone down on his dark body. He rolled into his belly, wincing with the pain from his wounds. The stallion hauled himself to his feet, dizzy but Stable. He looked around, his vision clearing quickly. Those few hours of rest were very much needed.

She watched as the stallion collapsed to the ground and winced some. "Bet that didn't feel good" she said to herself quietly and went over to the stallion, sniffing him. She looked around for some things that might assist the stallion, but didn't see anything. -He will just have to let them heal slowly- she thought and laid down a little bit away from the stallion. - A few hours later the mare was keeping watch over the stallion. Her ears flicked and her eyes watched for any danger. She heard a noise and turned her head to see the stallion getting to his feet. She stood quickly and stepped towards him to help him, incase he were to fall.

He saw the mare and blinked again, his vision now clear. He felt stronger, and flinched as she stepped towards him. He didn't mean to, but he was twitchy after his fight with the cougar. He was a very brave and strong horse, and usually NEVER flinched. (Brace and strong as I'm most horses would've died against a cougar lol)

He shook his mane, then bent his neck around to see how terribly streaked with blood and battered and bruised he looked. He made a face. His flanks were covered in blood where it dropped down his sides, his back and sides were serrated with claw marks, and he had claw and bite marks on his shoulders.

She looked at the stallion's wound and saw that his wounds had stopped bleeding. "Your wounds stopped bleeding at least," she said in a kind tone to the stallion, "must have been some cougar. But you managed to survive and kill it, any other horse would have either ran off or died." Edited at March 21, 2023 07:56 PM by Paranormal Pastures

Jen looked at the mare again, half speechless. No one had ... ever complimented him beforehand. He finally found his voice, which was deep. Then again, that was expected. "Well... thank you. For everything. As in making sure preadators didn't rip me apart. I'm sorry you had to see me like this.. I promise I don't usually look like this." He managed a half smile
