| It’s rare but it does still happen a lot. I’d assume just like horses, if there is a medical reason or a good reason they’d do it to benefit the animal just like guinea pigs etc |

| Is spaying mares common in the US…? I don’t think I’ve ever (knowingly) come across a spayed mare in the UK. Just curious really! Only met stallions with lovely manners personally. I expect they would not have remained intact if the reverse were true! |

| Spaying Guinea pigs is a huge no no UNLESS it’s a medical emergency but there are still vets who will do it especially if you’re gonna put the females in with males as they are social animals… They aren’t spayed a lot due to the health issues that can happen with it and can be dangerous for them |

| Some mares have painful heats, sometimes stallions get loose, sometimes genetics just shouldn't be passed on. So many reasons to spay a mare. Just seems like a bonkers argument |
