He stayed where he was, sitting up and holding a hand to the fresh cut oozing blood on his side.Gale's gaze shot up to her, then back to his side where he took out a dagger and offered it to her. "I need you to cut the wings off.Their impractical, in the way, and just overall junk.Cut them off, please."
He begged, bringing the dagger closer to her. |

He shoved the dagger into her hands, eyes sharp as blades. "Cut.Them.Off."
Gale ordered, staring into her eyes. |

Kayla didn't want him to be in pain but began to do as he asked, trying to work quickly |

Gale turned his back to her and let her cut, chewing his inner lip as she did to stop him from crying out and giving themselves away.When she finished hacking away he stood and looked back at the wings, grabbing them and tossing them into a bush before realizing the blood gushing from the wounds on his back, him just shrugging and continuing to start into the woods. |

Gale finally let out a wince, taking her hand and starting out. |

"We need to get you something before you bleed so badly you pass out..." Kayla said softly, glancing at his back again |

"If I pass out it'll be when we're safe.I know my limits, and I'm miles away from them." Gale said, squeezing her hand once and continuing. |
