Travis blushed lightly "Try and do that when I'm not around with people who I haven't already told." Hailey chuckled in a teasing manor. Max couldn't help but laugh as Oliver crawled over Sage and looked at Max curiously "There's really two babies in there?!" he yelped "Yes there are." Maxine told him with a laugh "You'll get to meet them soon enough i'm sure." she smiled. Once their friends had left Max was making them dinner about an hour later. She hummed lightly as she cooked "Dinner will be ready soon." she assured him as Charlie played with her toys on the floor in front of her dad. As she made dinner Maxine snacked on some cantelope and chips once more... it was just so tasty to her she couldn't help it even if it did gross Sage out a little.

Sage chuckled lightly and patted Travis in the shoulder. "Don't worry, I won't tell anyone," he chuckled. "And if I talk much more it'll end up with max putting that thing on me tonight so I'll move the conversation on," he joked lightly. He couldn't help but laugh alongside everyone else at Oliver's comment, and once they'd left he struggled up to his feet and limped inside. "Alright," he hummed. He wandered over partway through her making dinner and collapsed on a chair. "Is there something I can attempt to help with while I sit here," he asked with a sigh, hoping to be able to do something for once.

Max thought for a moment "The water is boiling for the potatoes... you could put them in?" she offered with a smile "If you're not up for it though I understand... A back massage later would be incredible though..." she admittd though she clearly hated to ask for her husband to do it knowing he was probably more sore or at least equally as sore as she was.

Sage grunted and nodded before forcing himself to his feet and limping over to where the pile of potatoes was on the counter and carrying them over to the pot. He had to tilt his head to keep an eye on the pot, which meant he couldn't see the potatoes...so he had to feel around for them as best he could and then put them in as carefully as possible so as not to splash the water and burn anyone. It took him a long time...he was probably just slowing Max down, but this was hard to try and figure out. "I'll give you a rub before bed," he promised her, bedding down to pick up the few potatoes he'd dropped and then taking a moment to find the pot again and dumping them in, recoiling when the water splashed and then went to look for a towel with a slightly aggravated huff of air.

Max frowned a little turning the burner down and grabbing a towel for her husband handing it to him before she wrapped her arms around him and pressed closes best she could "I know its frustrating..." she said gently "But you're still here... and you'll still be able to see your boys grow up..." she pointed out "Its a learning curve for sure... but you'll get there..." she said gently.

Sage threw Max a grateful look when she handed him the towel. He leaned into her with a sigh and nodded. "I know," he whispered. "Im trying...if not for myself then for you and the kids," he murmured. Even simple things like finding a towel we're suddenly so difficult...even just putting potatoes in the pot and cleaning up made his head hurt rather badly. But Max's support was the only thing that kept him even slightly afloat in it all...and he really was grateful.

Maxine gave a gentle sigh "You'll get there hun... I promise you will." She told him kissing his cheek "You'll figure it out." She said squeezing him a bit tighter "if a fully blind human can figure it out I'm sure a half blind demon can..." She smirked playfully.

Sage hummed and sighed, though he felt a smile drift onto his face when she pecked his cheek. It still amazed him how amazing and supportive she was...but it reminded him of why he'd fallen in love with her in the first place. He chuckled at her joke and nodded before patting her arm gently. "I have to clean that water up now, babe," he reminded her gently. Did he want to leave her embrace? No....but he had to suck it up and clean up his mess before it ruined the floor. He'd taken to leaving his hair down, to cover up the ruined side of his face. He knew his friends and family wouldn't mind it....and he'd never been one to hide scars...but this one just felt different. Like he should hide it. He wasn't sure why...but even while shopping, he'd crept around with his hair over his face, not meeting anyone in the eye, darting around, thinking everyone was going to grab him. It was stupid, he knew, but his mind had been just as hurt as his body...and he wasn't exactly allowing that to heal very well. But he had to hold it together...his family needed him whole. "I love you," he hummed lightly to Max, hoping she knew he appreciated her.

Maxine smiled and gave a nod "I know..." She said softly kissing his cheek giving him another squeeze before she broke off from him and went back to making dinner "I love you too." She replied "You have no idea how much it matters to me that you're still here." She said gently.

Sage hummed lightly and smiled, humming something similar to Max, though by then his brain was so tried he wasn't sure what he actually siad. He worked to clean up the water he'd spilled, though it took him nearly five minutes to find it all, which was a bit embarassing, especially since dinner was done by then and Charlie was at the table waiting. He limped over as fast as he could, sitting down with a weary sigh. He nibbled at dinner for a bit, though he didn't even finish half of his plate before he gave up with a sigh. It wasn't unusual for him to do that...and he felt bad that Max put the effort into it when he barely ate anything, so he sort of just quietly set the plate on the counter and went to lay down on the bed. He couldn't even gain the energy to put his food away, which made him feel even worse. Hopefully, he could give Max the massage she wanted without messing that up, too.
