Eli chuckled softly at her words, the sound rumbling low in his chest as he shifted slightly, letting her settle more comfortably against him. His arm around her felt natural now, easy, like it had always belonged there. “Depends,” he murmured, pressing a quick peck to the top of her head. “You planning on kicking me off in the middle of the night?” He gave her a teasing grin, fingers brushing lazily through hers. “But yeah… this couch isn’t exactly five-star accommodations. Definitely not ideal for sleeping.” He tilted his head down slightly, resting it near hers, voice dropping just a little softer. “So no, we’re not sleeping here. I have a feeling the bedroom’s gonna be way more comfortable for both of us.” He let the quiet stretch for a moment, the kind of calm that came from just being close, warm, and unhurried. “Unless… you’re trying to convince me otherwise,” he added with a teasing nudge, thumb brushing over her hand.

Emery shrugged at his question if she would kick him off in the middle of the night. "Only if you snore or talk in your sleep, because if I wake up and your rambling about something, you're coming back down here." She noted simply, agreeing when he noted it was'nt ideal for sleeping. "Good, because if we were i'm pretty sure i'd wake up with scoliousis*." Though she did look up at him for a moment when he asked if she was trying to convince him otherwise. She just smiled lightly and shook her head, chuckling lightly. ( * = probably butchered that)

Eli let out a low laugh, the sound warm and easy, brushing a little of the tension from the room. “Noted,” he murmured, pressing another quick kiss to the top of her head. “No snoring, no midnight rambling. Got it.” He shifted slightly, letting her settle more comfortably against him, thumb brushing over hers again. “Good call on the scoliosis thing,” he added with a grin. “I wouldn’t want to be responsible for that.” He leaned back just a little, catching her smile and the shake of her head, and his own grin softened. “Figured as much,” he said quietly, voice low, teasing but gentle. “You’re too stubborn to try convincing me of anything.” Then he nudged her gently with his shoulder, still letting his arm drape easily around her.

"Good, means I can sleep in peace." She noted with a huffed laugh, tugging the blanket further on her. "Exactly, otherwise you'd be paying for the surgery or--wait, do you even get surgery for that?" Emery asked, a good question indeed. Though, she did look at him like he was crazy when he said she was too stubborn, raising a brow. "Too stubborn, huh?" The woman asked, responding to his nudge.

Eli smirked at her raised brow, shaking his head slightly, the corner of his lips tugging upward. “Yeah… too stubborn,” he said, voice low and teasing. “I mean, look at you—rolling your eyes at me while still letting me wrap you up in this blanket. That’s textbook stubbornness if I’ve ever seen it.” He nudged her shoulder again, light but deliberate, letting his fingers brush over hers. “Besides,” he added, voice softening a bit, “I kind of like it. Makes keeping you close… more interesting.” He leaned back slightly, letting the warmth between them settle comfortably, thumb brushing lazy circles over her hand.

She snorted, grinning as she settled back against him. "Says the one who's probably never even read a textbook." Emery muttered, listening to the rest of his words---well, not really, she slipped her eyes shut and just about drifted off. "Interesting, huh? Guess i'll have to keep being stubborn, then." She noted, readjusting before laying back against him.

Eli let out a quiet laugh, the warmth in his chest spreading at the sound of her snort. “Touché,” he murmured, voice low and amused. “I might not have read a textbook, but I do know a thing or two about you.” He shifted just slightly, letting her settle more fully against him, one arm draping securely over her shoulders. His thumb brushed lazily over hers as he murmured softly, “Yeah… keep being stubborn. Makes keeping you close a lot more fun.” He felt her readjust against him, head sinking a little against his chest, eyes closing, and he pressed a gentle kiss to the top of her head.

"Touche is right," She muttered, pulling the blanket up as she readjusted once more, using his chest as a pillow as she slipped her eyes shut, not having a plan of sleeping but....she....Zzz.

he chuckled, slowly picking her up. His muscles flexing in the process, he moved upstairs towards her bedroom. He set her down on the bed, making sure the blanket was covering her then he went on the other side and layed down, his breath slow. -

Emery woke up slightly, curling into his side and draping an arm over him, practically pinning him before pecking his jaw, slipping back into sleep once more as the night stretched on.
