She didn't mind if Sage counted on her body heat to keep him warm during the winter. Cassidy wanted to help Sage after how he saved her once and risked his life for her already. It just proved even more that he did love her and it felt really nice. She just hoped she could at least find her parents or even one of her pack members to know that not everyone was wiped out. Thinking about her pack made Cassidy sad, especially since she got along with pretty much all of them and they were her family.

Sage let them lay there for a while longer before signing and getting up. He helped Cass up, holding a hand out to her. 'we really should get going. We'll set up the cave to make it comfy later tonight if we have time." He was a bit excited to make the cave even cozier... especially now that Cass and he had admitted their feelings for eachother.

Cassidy groaned "But I was so comfy" she pouted but she took Sage's hand anyways and got up from the bed with a huff. She grabbed her backpack to put it on and she started stripping the bed clean from the sheets since they had their own blankets back at the cave. "Alright, you grab one end and I'll grab the other" they needed to get back to the cave anyways before the sun started to go down. Walking in the dark with a mattress wouldn't be a good thing.

Sage chuckled. "Well you can snuggle in and get cozy once we get back home." Home. It was an odd thing, and surprised him a bit. He'd never described somewhere as home before. And this was just a cave. Everyone always said home is where your loved ones are. Well, Cass was his loved one, so he supposed it made sense. At least a little bit.

(Should we do another skip to them bringing the mattress back to the cave?)

(yeah we can. We could even skip a few days forward if you want)

A few days passed and they managed to get thr mattress into the cave and it was more comfortable than the cave floor. Cassidy definitely felt a difference with being less sore when waking up now that they had the padded mattress for comfort. It was a good idea to bring it back with them and it wasn't too hard to get it into the cave anyways. It was the afternoon and Cassidy was sitting in the grass on the bank of the river to watch some of the fish swim down stream. The birds were chirping which was quite peaceful and so was the soft sounds of the waterfall hitting the river. Cassidy had her eyes closed with her face tipped up towards the sun to soak it in. She wanted to soak in as much as the warm sun as she could before the cold weather would come in a few months.

Sage had been out looking for an animals he could hunt to dry the meat out before winter came.vhavung a type of jerky through the winter months would be helpful since many animals would stay in shelter, so hunting would go down. He caught a few rabbits, and saw Cass laying in the sun. He got a mischievous grin on his face and walked over to her quietly, as if he were hunting. He knelt down and leaned over her face so that they were only a few inches away from each other. "Enjoying yourself?" He wanted to prank the girl...seeing her unaware like that was too good if an opportunity to pass up. Plus, they were close, so if he could steal a kiss out of it after she opened her eyes, that's be an added bonus.

Cassidy opened her eyes to look at Sage and she smiled "Yes I am. We won't have too much longer with the warm weather so I'm going to take it all in while I can" she admitted. It was relaxing and so far they haven't seen any zombies come close to their home ever since they moved into the cave and she figured the water had something to do with it. If zombies can't swim then they would surely stay away from the area. The only thing they had to worry about was other people and they were lucky they haven't run into that yet either. "You should join me. It's pretty relaxing" she admitted and she even patted the grassy spot next to her to encourage him to sit. They had enough daylight left to do whatever it was that they needed to do so sitting for a few minutes wouldn't harm them.

Sage pouted playfully. "I wanted you to get startled just a teeny tiny bit," he chuckled. "You're no fun." But he lifted his head and sat down next to her anyway. It was nice out...he couldn't deny that. He lay down on his back next to her with a contented sigh. They'd only gotten more comfortable around eachother in the past few days, and could do really anything with eachother and be fine with it. They hadn't gone too far though..kisses and cuddles were the only romantic things they'd done, admittedly.
