Sage had sat next to Amira as she slept, occasionally getting up to pace to calm Liz down, but after a few hours all his energy was gone. He was still healing himself. He looked up at the nurse tiredly when she came in and shrugged. "I'm just glad one of them came back to me," he noted softly. "I'm used to dealing with grief...but losing both would have been too much, even for me."

The nurse nodded. "I'll be right back." She said softly, going and returning with a soft blanket, a decent pillow, coffee with creamer, and a warm sandwich. "It's not much, but your records say you were here more recently and this must be a bit to handle." She said, wrapping Liz in a smaller blanket and handing her back to Sage before leaving

Sage nodded dully to the nurse as she left, then half jumped when she came back. He blinked, surprised when she offered him the armful of things, but then thanked her gratefully. "I suppose it's a bit soon to be running around like this so soon after getting my chest cracked open," he mused, in a slightly amused tone. Whoever or whatever was on charge of fate clearly hated him.

Oop...that's us lol) Amira woke a few hours later, trying to sit up and panicking again. "Sage?" She said, the room dark

(lol real xD) Sage had settled down and passed out pretty quickly, but woke when he heard his name and grunted tiredly. "I'm right here," he noted quietly. "It's the middle of the night," he added, so she'd know why it was dark. "Liz is asleep with me ...are you alright? Do you need something?"

"Can you sleep here with me? Please? I want to talk..." She breathed

Sage nodded, moving to get off the floor with a small grunt. He was admittedly a bit stiff. "Yeah," he noted softly, moving to feel his way towards her and then slide on.

Amira felt her eyes already tearing up. "Are you upset? With me? Because...of what happened?"

Sage curled up with her, wrapping his arms around her and shook his head. "No....it's not your fault," he murmured. "It was no one's fault. It just....happened."

"I didn't even know...Why didn't I know..." She said, crying into his chest
