Max scowled lightly before she chuckled giving Charlie a kiss and telling her goodbye before the two of them headed off. "Sorry..." She whined lightly "I know im a little impossible at the moment..." She admitted as tears slid down her cheeks "I'm trying to figure out if I'm relieved it's two instead of one chunkier baby... or if I'm terrified..." She chuckled.

Sage had to admit, he was rather surprised when Max apologised, and was even more surprised when he noticed tears welling in her eyes, and then sliding down her face. He sort of stared at her in shock before shaking his head and reaching over to wipe the tears off her face with his thumb and pressing a light kiss to her forehead. "hey...it's alright," he murmured gently. "take a deep breath," he told her at her later comment. "You'll be alright...and so will the babies," he hummed. In all honesty, he was trying to convince himself of that....he knew what had happened last time wouldn't happen again, but he was still terrified something would happen. But she didn't need him to say or show that...just like she didn't need to know how awful he still felt about almost killing the two of them. She needed his help, with all of this, so he could suck it up and hold it in, push it back, whatever....just like he used to always do. He'd manage alright. At least he hoped so....because right now, Max needed him, and she'd only need him more as she got bigger and heavier and closer to giving birth.

Max gave a small whine nuzzling close to him "I love you..." She whimpered softly taking a few deep breaths giving a small nod before she looked at him "I hope you're right I'm just so scared..." She admitted "I know you are too..." She said gently hugging him. After a few minutes she dried her cheeks a bit and grabbed his hand squeezing it gently "I'm so glad you're here..." She said gently. (If you wanna do a skip go for it!)

Sage smiled down at the girl lightly and wrapped his arms around her, giving her a comforting squeeze in response to her comments. "I know," he hummed. "But it'll all work out." He certainly hoped it did. Once Max had calmed down a bit, they hopped in the car and went to the store, and he grabbed a cart and sort of just wandered around, letting max pick out a few goodies as he grabbed things they actually needed for the house. They checked out soon enough, and he got max settled in the car before going to put the cart back. He was about halfway back to the car when he felt a sudden pain in his chest, and he halted, looking around for a moment before taking another step forward, only to run into some form of priest. The man flung...something..at his face, and it burned like nothing he'd ever felt before. Was it...holy water? He'd seen this sort of thing once before...but had never experienced it. He let out a yowl of both pain and anger and pounced, killing the priest easily but by then more had appeared and he couldnt see very well, so they were able to snag him pretty easily. He fought, of course, but there was only so much he could do. He was dragged away hissing and spitting, and it was only once they'd shoved him in a cage in the back of a vehicle did he realize that in the fight, his earring had fallen out. It could lead Max to him....and he couldn't help but dread what might happen.

Maxine nodded and hugged him again before they headed off to the store. When they got there her mood shifted rather dramatically as she spotted several things that just looked absolutely amazing to eat. She got settled in the car and decided to text her dad and check in on him and Charlie before she was jolted out of the message she was sending her dad by a yowl from her husband... she practically lept out of the car seeing her husband get thrown into a van... they hadn't seen her... yet... as soon as she spotted Sage's earring she grabbed it clenching it tight in her fist her blue eyes flaring angirly as her powers worked without much thought, she conjured an animal that went after the van Sage was in, she was quick to climb into the car and drive after him "Well boys looks like daddy needs us to save his ass again..." she said trying to calm herself a bit (it didn't work) as she sped her way out of the parking lot, she didn't even think about calling the cops or her father or anyone else... she just knew her husband was in danger.

Sage sort of thrashed around in the back of the van, and ended up killing two other priests along the way, even with his hands bound and no eyesight due to ...whatever it was they'd thrown at him. He assumed it was holy water, but he honestly had no idea what it was. But it was burnt his face badly, he could tell that much, and had blinded him, too ..which was definitely a big concern. It hadn't kept him from biting though, which was how he'd killed the other two priests and tossed them out a window (that part was probably pure luck he found a window to toss them out of), though they'd muzzled him quickly after that. He fought still, but of course couldn't do much, especially not after they slipped something around his neck and chain him to the end of the cage they'd eventually put him in. He scowled and thrashed around, yowling in anger....another collar? Really? And this time a cage too? Ugh, this was getting annoying. But he was also panicking a bit too....he was blind, and chained up in a cage like a dog, heading to who knows where, which a pregnant wife and two unborn sons who were most likely going to get hurt if she followed him.

Maxine followed at what she hoped was a safe distance... eventually the piests pulled into an old factory building that looked abandoned... (to say the least it didn't bring back then most pleasant memories...) men in white lab coats greeted the priests paying them a large sum of money for Sage before dragging him into the building by the collar around his neck. Max couldn't believe her eyes... every instinct told her this was not a good place... but in her panic over what was going to happen to her husband she didn't think to call anyone as she pulled up on the side of the road only to have her windows smashed in by men in similar white coats and forced out of her car... a few of them took notice of her round middle a hungry excited look in their eyes as they shoved a needle full of sedative into Max's arm.

To say the least, sage wasn't happy when he noticed the men selling him off. Nor was he very happy with them dragging him around by a collar either. He thrashed and fought best he could, though with his hands bound, a muzzle on his face, and his legs hobbled....and no eyesight.....his fight didn't do much good. His face still burned awfully, and his neck too...anywhere the collar, ropes, or holy water had touched was physically burning him. It was really quite unpleasant. He heard the car pull up though, and heard them grab Max ...he'd recognized the sound of her and their children, and he let loose a howl, his fighting efforts renewed, though he just got hit over the head and dragged inside, and chained up to a wall. Well, fine, if they were going to treat him like a dog, that's what they'd get. They'd loosened his hands and feet by then, since he was firmly in a cage and chained up by the neck, and he managed to gut another priest with a roar, guarding the body as he snarled at the others. They left him be, but by then this place has all but driven him mad, and he raved like a rabid wolf over his kill.

When Max woke up next she was pinned down to a table an ultrasound machine being run over her stomach as another scientist took notes "Ah you're awake!" He chirped "Nice to finally meet you Maxine." He purred "We've been watching you and your family for quite a while." He said happily "Though the recent upgrades to your home made it difficult we managed." He chuckled "My name is Alexander Preston... a man of science and faith..." he said simply "You and your demon husband... your children... are a stain on the earth... but I thought perhaps you all may have some things to offer scientifically..." he purred "You're going to be part of something amazing and your daughter and your boys will be the ambassadors." He said obviously quite pleased with himself "Sadly you won't have a main role... but you and Sage ought to be proud... all your children will be the most amazing soldiers for certain." He said happily "You'll never lay a hand on any of my kids!" She hissed.

A scientist came in to see Sage too he took blood from Sage using a long staff with a syringe on the end before he left Sage alone... aside from the voice of his wife coming through the vent above him. "Say hello to your husband by the way... he's in the room right beside you... he can hear us through the vent." Alex purred in amusement.

Sage had only stilled when he heard Max's voice come through the vent, and he cautiously moved towards it, though his snarl rose in his throat again when he heard the scientist taunting Max and threatening his kids and....there was another one opening his door. He let out a sort of howl that was definitely only a noise a demon could emit....it was a nosie that sent chills down your spine and terror through your body. Even the scientist, who was wearing ear plugs, balked for a second before jabbing him with the needle. In the neck no less. Wonderful. Now he had blood basically everywhere. He lashed out again, having completely forgotten everything next to him. This place was affecting his mind....and he was becoming more and more feral the longer he was here. No doubt they could hear the commotion through the vent. And they could probably see the splatter of blood that hit the wall, if not hear that too. He'd landed a good hit in the scientist. He wasn't close enough to kill him, but when the man gave the huge syringe of blood to the man taunting Max, he had wounds only a monster could give.
