Abby gave a stiff nod. She sat sideways on the chair, her head against the back and her legs over the arm. She pulled her legs in and pulled her shoes off. She pushed her feet against the side and her back against the other. Her cheek rested on his hand. Atleast needed to touch him... to know he was still there. She may not be the one in the bed, but she still felt as broken as glass. Could Sophia even hear them? Was she unresponsive? Thoughts circulated through her brain to the point where she couldn't even set them straight anymore. She stared at the wall, desoerste to find something she could think of that could tear her away, but all she could think of were the horses or Sophia or Ryker or the other kids. Somehow, all of it led back to Sophia laying passed out in a hospital bed

Ryker stood right beside the chair, not planning on leaving anytime soon. He cupped her cheek slightly with his hand, occasionally rubbing his thumb across her jawbone, hoping it was soothing. Not that anything could help right now. His baby girl was laying in a hospital bed, unresponsive, and there wasn't a darn thing he could do about it. It made him want to scream and rip his hair out. He was helpless. Truly helpless, probably for the first time in his life. The feeling was horrible. "She'll be okay." He whispered, almost trying to convince himself. She only needed time.

Abby closed her eyes when Rykers hand shifted. She took a deep breath when his finger slid across her skin. She couldn't push the thoughts away. They would pushand push until she snapped. until then, she fight it off with sleep. She had probably only been asleep for ten minutes, but that ten minutes was horrible. She jerked awake, her eyes flying open as she gasped once. Images of pale green tinted skin floated through her brain. She quickly looked at Sophia, grabbing her hand as gently as she could. Abby practically exploded with joy when she felt a slight squeeze in her daughters fingers. "Ryker" she whispered, not bothering to look at him. She had a feeling her freaking out after her nightmare was enough to wake him up. "Ryker she's moving. She's trying to squeeze me back. Oh baby I'm here. Baby can you hear me? It's Mom" she pushed back the tears as Sophia's hand shifted again

Ryker didn't fall asleep, and he didn't move for quiet a while, keeping his hand on her cheek to support her head as he felt it loll slightly. An indication she was asleep. It didn't last long, however, as only ten or so minutes later she took in a sharp breath and whispered his name. His gaze immediately flew from Sophia's face to Abby, then to her hands. "Sophia? We're here... we're here..." He said quietly, the slightest bit of hope sparking in his voice as he stepped forward, by the bed, and watched her intently. A couple seconds later, Sophia's small face twitched before her eyes opened.

Abby leaned forward and clutched Sophia's hand with her life, though her grip was weak. Sophia tried to move her mouth but no words came. "Its ok honey. We're here" Abby's other hand grabbed Rykers arm. A nurse passed then stopped, turning around and glancing into the room. She waved over a few other nurses then rushed off to her own patient. The two new nurses carefully checked over Sophia. Abby watched the nurses hands carefully

Ryker swallowed down a strangled noise as Sophia tried to talk but couldn't. What if she could never talk again? Never walk again? Never have a normal life? Fear stabbed at his heart, but he stayed stony on the outside, For Abby's sake. (Me just realizing you can re-arrange the letters in Abby to spell Baby 0-0)

(lol not me trying to figure out which B to put first. I'm so tired) - Abby glanced back at Ryker then back at Sophia. She sucked in a breath then slowly let it out again. "Is she going to be okay?" She asked the nurse. "Yes ma'am, she will. Because she was asleep she is having a rough time talking but it won't be long before she can move around and speak again. I assure you, Mrs. Rivera, she will be okay" Abby leaned back against the seat, her hand still on Sophia's. "Ok. Thank you so much" she answered.

(XD) - Ryker looked at the nurse as they responded, relief trickling into his expression. She will be okay. He thought firmly to calm himself down, his hand that wasn't holding Abby's gripping the chair tightly. "Yes... thank you." He said quietly, bringing his dark gaze back to Sophia.

Abby gulped and let her eyes wander down to her legs. Both knees had some metal contraption over them. Abby winced and looked back at Sophia. Sophia's eyes fluttered half way open then closed again. "Sophia" Abby whispered, her voice failing because of the slight relief she was feeling.

Ryker stared at Sophia for a little longer before clenching his teeth so he didn't say anything yet, his hands trembling slightly. He put his hand on Abby's shoulder and looked rather thankful as Sophia started to open her eyes.
