The brush of her lips still tingled, and he gave her waist a subtle squeeze, like he was staking a quiet claim without saying it out loud. “Yeah… eventually,” he murmured, echoing her tone, a faint smirk tugging at his lips as he leaned down just enough to press a quick, teasing kiss to her temple. “But until then? You’re stuck with me walking you all the way there.” He gave her hand a gentle squeeze, thumbs brushing over hers, fingers curling instinctively around hers. His eyes flicked toward the jacket again, but he didn’t move to take it back—he wanted the moment to stretch just a little longer. Then, finally, he stepped back, letting her settle in, his hand lingering briefly at her lower back before he closed the door. "Also...what was it you said out there? I couldn't understand a thing you said," She mused with a smile, setting her hand palm up on the center console, a signal for him to take it. |

Time stretched, unspoken, until finally her house appeared, and he pulled into the driveway, engine cutting off with a soft click. He stepped out first, guiding her to the door, brushing a strand of hair from her face. No words were needed—they’d already agreed he’d stay. Once inside, he followed her, settling beside her on the couch, arm draped over her shoulders, pulling her close. “Not moving,” he murmured, pressing a kiss to her temple. “Not tonight.” And just like that, the night felt infinite—quiet, warm, and theirs. |

She questioned, gazing at him for a moment before watching as the streets blurred past them, the wind blowing against the car as they drove. The woman climbed out of the car once they got into the driveway, walking to the front door and unlocking it before locking it behind him once again. Emery walked over to the couch after kicking her heels of and waited until he sat beside her, settling against him. His words sounded somewhat warm, and when his lips brushed against her temple she reached up and cupped his face lightly, kissing him once again. |

Eli felt that spark in his chest as her hand cupped his face, and he leaned into the kiss, letting it linger just a moment longer. His thumb brushed gently over her wrist, teasing, grounding. “Yeah… that’s definitely unfair,” he murmured, voice low, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear. “Making me feel like this while I’m trying to stay cool.” He shifted slightly, pulling her closer so she could rest fully against him, the warmth of her body seeping through the chill still clinging from outside. Fingers laced with hers on the couch, thumb tracing lazy circles, he let himself sink into the quiet comfort of being with her. Then he pulled back just a little, enough to meet her gaze. A small, slightly sheepish smile tugged at his lips. “Okay… real quick,” he said softly, “I… I gotta go change. Can’t exactly stay like this in my jacket forever.” But even as he stood, his hand lingered at her waist, fingers brushing hers lightly. “I’ll be right back. Don’t… move too far, alright?” He gave her one last soft kiss to the top of her head before slipping off to the trunk of his car, Where his old tanktop and sweatpants layed, leaving her there, smiling, knowing he’d be back in moments. |

"Thank God," She muttered, walking upstairs and changing into a pair of shorts and a t-shirt, considering wiping her makeup off but being too lazy to, figuring she could just do it in the morning anyways. The woman continued back downstairs, wondering what was taking him so long as she grabbed a thick blanket, wrapping it around herself before she flopped back down on the couch, grabbing her phone and texting all her friends back as she started to seriously wonder what he was doing out there. |

Eli stepped out of the bathroom, freshly changed into a tank top and sweatpants, his hair dry and tousled just enough to look effortless. He let out a quiet sigh, stretching slightly as he took in the sight of her on the couch, blanket wrapped around her, phone in hand. “There you are,” he murmured softly, voice low and warm, sliding onto the couch beside her. One arm draped naturally over her shoulders, his thumb brushing the back of her hand. “Miss me?” he teased lightly, though the warmth in his eyes gave away just how much he had. He leaned back, letting the quiet and comfort of the couch wrap around them both. “Because I definitely missed this,” he murmured, pressing a gentle kiss to the top of her head. She leaned back into his arm when he came back, it now almost natural to both of them. Emery looked up at him, chuckling. "What was taking you so long? I've already changed, gone all the way upstairs and back, and texted all my friends back." She joked, laughing lightly as he pecked her head, resting her head back against his chest as she slipped her eyes shut for a moment, interupting the peace a second later. "I don't know about you but this couch is really uncomfy, we're not sleeping here, are we?" |
