Maxine smiled and turned over curling up on his chest listening to his heartbeat "Mmm... I missed that sound..." she cooed sleepily giving a gentle sigh drifting off to sleep surprisingly quickly though her creatures roamed the house again despite Sage being home... it was a pretty decent warning system though. When they woke up the next morning Max's back was a little sore... she sat on the edge of the bed rubbing it with a gentle groan as Charlie came in and jumped on the bed "Mamaaaaa Dadaaaaaa doughtnut timeeeee!" she squeaked.

Sage smiled at Max's sleepy comment and wrapped hisa rms around her happily. "I missed all of this," he hummed, though she was pretty much already asleep. He chuckled lightly and closed his eyes, only waking up when Charlie jumped on top of him. He woke with a groan, looking over at Charlie blearily and then over at Max with a slightly amused but definitely still mostly asleep look on his face before groaning and sitting up, rubbing his eyes. "Let mommy and daddy get dressed first, ok sweetheart," he mumbled, sort of just trying to wake up a bit.

Max giggled lightly at their daughter shaking her head as the little girl quickly squirmed her way off the bed and out to the living room, within moments the TV was on and one of her shows was running which Max was okay with for while she waited to go get breakfast with them. When she finally got up and got the gumption to get ready she went and rinsed her face before she sorted out her clothes and hair for the day. She smiled as she rubbed her back looking at her husband "You should have known that was coming." she teased playfully.

Sage watched Charlie go before flopping back down onto the bed with a groan, running his hands along his face in an effort to wake up. Eventually, though, he had to get up and brush his hair out and then popped it back into the messy bun he would normally keep it in during the day. He chuckled slightly at Max's comment as he went to throw on some actual pants and a kind of muscle tee that was comfortable. "Yea, but I wasn't expecting it quite this early," he noted with amusement, wandering into the kitchen to down a mug full of black coffee. "You made it so I can't function without this stuff," he complained lightly to Max, waving the now empty cup in the air.

Maxine giggled lightly as she came out and grabbed some orange juice for herself giving a chuckle "I know what you mean just be glad you can have it..." she muttered with a chuckle. Once she'd downed the juice she went and took Charlie to get ready the little girl deciding she wanted pigtails today so Max happily obliged and gave her some pigtails before the little girl ran out in her cat shirt and blue pants leaping into her dads arms "Can we go now? pleaseeeeeee?!" she squeaked "We gotta wait for grandpa remember?" Max reminded her.

Sage chuckled lightly and shrugged. "juice is good too," he mused lightly. He sort of cleaned the coffee and juice up while Max got Charlie ready and then caught her when she came flying at him. He chuckled at her comment and then nodded at Max's. "Grandpa will be here any second," he told the girl. "Then we can go." Lance showed up a few minutes later, and they all headed off walking down to the shop together.

She gave a nod and stayed with her dad until Lance came in about 10 minutes later "Alright who's ready to go get doughnuts?!" he chirped "Me me me!!!" Charlie chirped happily squirming out of her fathers grasp to go to her grandfather "Alright then! lets go!" he chuckled happily looking to Max and Sage "You guys ready too?" he asked curiously though he was mostly looking at his daughter "Yeah we're good dad." Maxine assured the man with a laugh.

Sage chuckled lightly when Charlie squirmed out of his arms and raced over to Lance. He snorted again at Lance's comment. "After being woken up by Charlie jumping on top of me at the crack of dawn screaming about doughnuts, I'd say I'm ready for anything," he joked lightly before nodding. "We're all set," he chirped in the affirmative before taking Max's hand as they walked out the door. The donut shop was close, so they decided to just walk down there together.

When they arrived at the little shop the smell was intoxicating... it smelled absolutely amazing inside... "Oh geez I don't know what to pick..." Max giggled as Charlie looked at the donut cases "Hmmm... I want that one..." She squeaked after a good 10 minutes of carefully studying the doughnuts she pointed to a chocolate one with chocolate icing and sprinkles on it... "Ahhh the sprinkles caught your eye eh?" Lance chuckled "You really are like your mom aren't you?" He chuckled looking at his daughter "The rare times we got doughnuts you'd always pick the ones with the sprinkles..." he chuckled ordering the doughnut for his granddaughter while Max looked at all the very delicious doughnuts.

Sage chuckled lightly at Max, knowing she'd take a while to pick something out, so he helped charlie work on hers and order before ordering himself, after letting Lance order, and then looked back at Max and grinned. "If you can't decide, pick two and have the second one tomorrow," he told her. Then he handed her his card so she could pay once she decided what she wanted. "I'll go get us a table," he told her happily, carrying Charlie around as she directed him to a nice table outside.
