"it's not nearly as likely though," he pointed out with a sigh. There really wasn't anything he could have done...but he knew he'd still be at himself up about it. He'd get over it, eventually, but now it was just suddenly like it had happened all over again. He did want to know...now he just needed time to process it all. To grieve. Luckily, he had Celeste and the kids with him this time around.

Sage sort of sighed and nodded. "I know," he murmured. "I am kind of surprised she didn't wind up with more between the two of us," he admitted after a moment.

He hummed softly and nodded. "Part of me knows that. Part of me wants to think I could have done better." He shrugged softly. "I'll work through it," he added.

Celeste nodded, rubbing his back and holding him close, trying to comfort him.

Sage did appreciate her being there....it made it a lot easier to deal with it all. He moved to just snuggle on, wrapping his arms around her gently as he curled in. It was just nice to know nothing like that would ever happen again.

Sage felt a soft smile cross his face in response to her peck, looking up at her fondly. "I got really lucky, didn't I," he hummed softly.
