Anya chuckled softly have nodded in agreement. "That's true enough... I'm actually surprised she let me drag you back out here," she shrugged with a slight smile at the thought... her mother had tried to say no, but Anya just wasn't having it, and she probably didn't want an argument right then, considering she had just gotten her daughter back... and what was an extra person? Sage was small and quiet, so the woman probably hadn't thought he'd cause quite so much trouble so soon. "Well, I'm surprised about that and the fact that you still haven't decided to leave yet... and so is she, probably." She shrugged and let him curl up against her, a mocking chuckle escaping her when be asked her to read to him. "You want me to read you a story? Like a little kid?" She was only teasing him... but she wasn't sure if he was awake enough to register that. "You know, you do this really adorable thing where you just turn into a kid... you curl up and cuddle un, it's sweet," she chuckled softly before taking the book before flipping through the book to find a good place to read for him from.

Sage chuckled and shrugged. "Just let her forget I'm here and we'll all be happy I suppose," he mused, knowing that would never actually happen. He made a face at her when she started in with the teasing, though of course he wasn't upset with her at all. "And you act like my mother so what's it matter," he teased the girl right back, though the tiny in his cheeks told her all she needed to know...he kinda liked when she called him sweet or adorable...it was a nice change from the other things people generally called him. Though, her use of tavern boy wasn't as either, he could admit that. But he did as she said and curled up, getting comfy.

Anya made a confuse face at his little comment before kind of grunting. "Well, I only mother you because you don't look after yourself! What, do you want me too just let you die?" The girl rolled her eyes before sitting a bit lower to get comfortable. She did know she tended to smother Sage a bit from time to time... but it was just because she loved him. She wanted to give him everything he never had, to make sure he was warm and safe and that he was, well, happy. One hand kind of curled around his side before she pulled the covers up to keep warm. She'd of course read for him if he wanted it... though, she had to admit it was a little odd to her, given the fact she hadn't read out loud for, well, years.

Sage chuckled at the girl's comment and shrugged. He couldn't complain that she mothered him ...really he quite liked it. He curled up against the girls side, warm and cozy, and closed his eyes as she started to read. It was nice...it was a good story, and her voice seemed to bring it all to life. He enjoyed the stories in the books, but reading was time consuming and hard, so having it read aloud was all of the benefits without it hurting his head after about half an hour. Which to him, was really only a chapter or two.

Anya smiled and pulled her legs up so she was a little more comfortable as she read the story out to the boy. She had to admit, she was a little awkward at first... kind of stuttering her words out and forcing the sentences. Most likely because she hadn't read out loud in so long, but eventually she got on a roll and the story kind of came to life. It was some adventure novel, about a war or something along those lines. Very stereotypical, underdog type plot. After a little while, maybe an hour and a half, when she reached the end of a huge eighth chapter she looked down at the boy with a sweet smile, "want me to keep going?" She asked quietly, her hand tracing up his side softly.

Sage had to admit, if he'd been asked if he'd want to just sit and have someone read to him a week ago, he would have said no. But he was enjoying it now...and the fact that it was Anya reading made it even better. Of course, she was probably the only person he'd want to read to him. He look up at the girl and smiled softly. "If you want to." In all honesty he was just enjoying being with the girl. He leaned into her lightly, just glad to be cuddled up with her while he wasn't hurting so much.

Anya nodded quietly, gently squeezing his side, though careful not to hurt him. She didn't mind reading to him... she wasn't sure why he'd wanted her to, maybe to help him relax, or even just because the book was a little tricky to read... but it didn't matter why, she'd always do it for him. He never really asked for much, despite her trying to give him everything so she often jumped at the opportunity to actually give the boy something he wanted. Even if most of the time it was just to cuddle up and chill out for a while. "That's not what I asked," she chuckled softly, gently running her hand up his side and through his hair lightly, so it was more like a tickle. She enjoyed reading, and she didn't mind carrying on, but she couldn't help the question that bubbled in her head. "Are you not bored?" She whispered softly. He's just been sat there for a while... and she couldn't quite gauge if he was enjoying himself or not.

Sage chuckled and reached up to pat the girls thought gently. "Surprisingly not," he murmured. "It's nice to just sit here with you," he admitted. Then he gave her his usual crooked smirk. "Besides, if I can get you to dote on me longer I'm going to take advantage of that," he giggled in a teasing manner. She'd really do anything for him, and he knew that, though he'd just as willingly do anything for her ...she'd wrapped him around her pinkie finger, as the saying went, and he was more than fine with that. He tilted his head back to peck her on the cheek and then nestled in again, resting his head on her shoulder. He really was enjoying their time together, and as far as he could tell so was Anya. He didn't care whether she was reading to him or kissing him or what...he just liked being with the girl.

Anya felt a light blush paint her face as she listened to him, unable to help the grin that formed on her face as he pecked her on the cheek. "Please, you've pretty much had me all over you since the very start. I wish you'd have taken advantage of that sooner," she teased lightly, mirroring his smirk before looking back at the book and deciding she'd rather keep on going. It was rather interesting, and the author had introduced some romance into the whole thing, which Anya was more than keen to read about, even if it was out loud. She tilted her head to place a kiss to the top of his head before sitting up a bit more and grabbing the book.

Sage chuckled, a light blush covering his face as she teased him back. He let her win this one...mainly so she'd go back to reading and they could find out what happened. He had to admit he was curious to see how this turned out...who'd get the main character romance wise, and who would win this battle that was going on. He normally wouldn't care who got the girl or who did what romance wise, though because he was with Anya that all seemed to but a bit more ... interesting. But really, he was glad to do anything with the girl, even if she'd decided to put the book down for a bit.

(What if a bit later he goes out and runs into the queen and she ends up slapping him like she slaps Anya? It would be interesting...maybe once she sees his reaction and how badly his father actually hurt sage she starts rethinking some things? Lemme know what you think lol)
