"You have 24 hours starting now. No more communications will be made" another text sent before the kidnapped crushed the burner phone, completely destroying it so Kai couldn't track it.

Kai was shaking, unable to control himself. He made a call he never wanted to make. "I need a huge favor." Kai said shakily. "What does huge mean?" His father rumbled

Lorelei laid sobbing on the floor when the man came in for another round.

"I need lots of money. Now." Kai explained. His father chuckled.

"How much?"

"450 mil..."

"Ha! You think you can disappear and then I'll just hand over money?"

"I'll do almost anything."

"Hm...Come back."

"Anything but that"
"Hm...Take down 6 targets I have."
"Deal. Send it over."

"I need those targets gone first"

Kai nodded, hanging up as his father sent him the tracker locations of all 6. Kai had the jobs done by 2am the next morning. His father sent a man with the money who arrived an hour later. Kai took the cash, trying every way known to man to find Lorelei before finally pinning a place. He drove there by 4am and busted through the door, rifle out and money in a duffle

The kidnapper wasn't stupid. He knew Kai would find them. He waited, in a full face mask and when Kai got there, he was waiting at the table, hand hovering above a button on his phone. "Dont move," he said simply to the man. "Or the girl gets gassed and the door gets locked," he threatened.

"I have your money" Kai muttered, dropping the duffel but staying back a ways. "Where is my girl?" He growled

"Drop your weapon," he replied. Once he'd complied, he spoke again. "Bring me the bag," he demanded. With the money in hand, he stood, exiting the building. "Basement," he muttered, disappearing into the darkness.

Kai wasn't an idiot being cautious as he mad his way into the basement aand seeing Lorelei. He choked on air unable to draw a breath. "Baby...Oh, no, no, no, Lorelei, my girl..." He said, cring now as he worked the restraints free and wrapped her in his coat. "It's okay, baby, I'm here" He breathed, still crying as he lifted her and hurried to his car. He set her in the passenger seat before speeding to the hospital. "I need help! Now!" He shouted, running into the hospital

Lorelei was on the brink of consciousness, only seeing flashes of Kai coming into view. "...kai..." she breathed. The basement was freezing, and she was hypothermic, cold to the touch, lips blue. Her wrists were black and blue and bloody from her struggles against the restrains, her entire body bruised from the things the man had done to her. She shivered, instinctively curling into Kais warmth. Before they got to the car, she lost consciousness, pulse barely there.

Doctors rushed to Kai's aid, taking Lorelei away. "No! I need to see her!" He bellowed, being dragged back by security as the broken woman he loved was wheeled away to get checked.
