Anya was tired, for sure, but she couldn't get herself back to sleep. There was too much going through her head. Her mother would be fuming at her, and she'd have to find a way to settle the guards, who without a doubt would be angry with her... mainly because they'd have to work just a bit harder. She was sure they'd have something to say about it, especially since their little stunt last night. She shifted ever so slightly to press a kiss to his forehead before shuffling a bit so she could bury her face into his neck, trying to hide a little bit from the cold. She gently kissed his collar before sighing quietly. "How do you feel?" she whispered softly.

Sage hummed and wrapped his arms around her with a sleepy yawn. "Better," he admitted. Then he made a face. "Well, better from out talk, worse from the belt." He wasn't sure that made much sense, but it was how awake his brain was at the time. Besides, he wanted to be honest with Anya, which meant yes he was sore and didn't want to do much. "I have a feeling I'll pretty much be laying around for a few days," he admitted, shifting slightly to cuddle into Anya

Anya nodded slowly, her hands running up his arms as they wrapped around her. "I'll get you something to eat later on... and maybe something from our good doctor to ease the pain and swelling," she murmured with a she settled down again, moving away from him slightly. "I've got a lot to do while your bed bound... my mother's furious about us sneaking out for you, and I'd think it hasn't helped this rebellion thing all too much... and I don't trust your dad not to find a way in and bloody kill us all, so there'll be more guards about," she groaned, pressing a few light kisses to his neck before pecking him on the lips to lighten the mood a little, "I'll be back in a bit," she whispered and quietly slipped away from him.

Sage nodded and smiled softly when she kissed him, closing his eyes briefly as she did so. "Good luck," he chuckled, knowing the queen could be a character. Then he grunted and nodded. "I'm sure he's passed out somewhere fuming in his sleep. He'll be back once he can manage to get sober enough to find his way over here." Once the girl was gone, he lay about for a bit before forcing himself to get up and reach over to get the pencil and paper. He let out a yelp, glad Anya was already gone so she wasn't that worried about it. He had to lay on his stomach to draw though, and eventually ended up falling asleep on top of his half finished drawing of the lake.

Anya swiftly got changed and wandered out, going to get some food before deciding to wait until a little later to find her mother... the woman was probably awake, but she'd be grumpy, she knew that well enough. The woman had been angry enough to slap her the day before... well, Anya hadn't helped the situation by screaming at her for letting them have Sage, but she was just as angry as her mother had been. She'd explained that Sage had it awful out there, that his dad was awful to him and a bit about his work in the tavern, so she honestly astonished that she'd been alright with it.

Sage slept for about an hour, and then decided to force himself up for at least a little bit. He want to the bathroom, walked around for a bit (he was stiff but he got around ok), and then wandered back to the bed. He flopped down on it, then remembered he shouldn't be flopping around when his back protested the movement. Well, really his body had been screaming at him all day, but whatever. He went ahead and finished his drawing before he allowed himself to rest again. He wasn't meaning to fall asleep again, but that's what ended up happening. He supposed it was normal, having been up most of the night.

After around an hour of wandering around, Anya finally cooked up the courage to go see her mother, who was kind of pacing around the throne room... it was the last place she checked, but she kind of expected her to be there anyway. As soon as the girl entered the room, though, she was met by a loud yell and yet another smack across her face. She hadn't said anything yet... but she swallowed the lump in her throat that told her to shout at her in return, and just took a deep breath. "Sorry," the girl crackled out quietly, chewing the inside of her lip nervously. The woman almost growled at her in return. "I don't want to hear it, Anya. Do you know how stupid it was for you to go out there? And to take Luther with you? What would you have done if something had happened to him," she snapped, though her voice became a little softer as she went on... the woman was just worried about her... Anya knew that. But there was anger in there too... most likely from sneaking out. She understood that... "Mother, I couldn't let anything happen to him... he's been through enough and I pro-" she was just cut off again... and Anya knew better than to try and argue her case. She wouldn't win, and she'd just get another smack in the face for it. "I don't care about what you promised him. When it comes down to it, your lives is much more important than some tavern boys." The woman sighed and turned to Anya for a moment, her expressions going soft. "You've cause problems for me... and I don't want you getting hurt. I know you care about that boy, but please don't do anything so stupid again," she murmured, to which Anya only nodded before slowly backing out the room. She wouldn't win, she never would, but she'd tried. And, well, she didn't want to make her angry enough to send Sage away again, though this time it would be willingly.

Sage curled up in his usual ball while he slept, though he woke up enough to curl up under the covers at least. He was still laying with the pencil and paper on the bed, under his hand, but he did pull the blanket over himself. So there was that. He didn't mind having d few days to do nothing...the last few days had seemed crazy, and he really hadn't had much time to rest, let alone sleep. So, if he was hurting, he could lay around. Besides, he didn't really want to be near anyone but Anya or Luther. Everyone else hated him, he knew that, and they hated he was back. They'd been happy he was gone...but Anya had risked her and Luthers lives to go out after him. Which was a bad idea, though he did appreciate them.

Anya stood still for a little while, just thinking about... everything. She knew her mother was disappointed with her, about Sage, but it'd worse if she knew how things really were between them. She just wished the woman would have let her speak, explain herself a little better... but that was never going to happen, and she had to accept that. The girl eventually made herself wander over to the doctors, where she asked for something to make the pain ebb away from Sages wounds. He made some snarky comment before handing her some lotions and some painkiller for the boy. She wandered away again, back towards Sages room but not before picking up some food for him. She knocked gently on the door, just so he'd know it was her before walking in. She let a small smile take over her face... at least he was peaceful. The girl picked up some book he must have been reading before a wandering towards the desk in the corner, sitting down and getting comfortable... she'd give him everything once he woke up again.

Sage slept for a while longer before stirring slightly. He was awake, though he wasn't fully aware yet. He did notice Anya though, and murmured a sleepy type of greeting as he stretched slightly and then settled back down again, not willing to move much. He'd move enough to keep from getting any worse stiffness wise, but that was it. She was welcome to come over, though he also knew she'd make him get up and eat, so maybe it wasn't going to happen right away. Whatever, she'd have to be incredibly convincing to get him to move. That or he'd better be miraculously healed by then, one or the other.
