Maxine chuckled softly "Even back then you held a special place in my heart babe..." she cooed happily cupping his face in her cheeks and just staring into his eyes "I'm sorry I didn't get you to Roxie sooner when you were sick..." she said gently her eyes glossing with tears.

Sage hummed lightly and smiled up in her. "Well, I suppose I saw something I wanted to save, even if you were dumb enough to almost get hit by a truck," he teased lightly. Though, he sighed slightly and shook his head when she apologized. "You don't have to be sorry," he told her. "Demons don't get sick often, but when we do, its just....bad. there wasn't much anyone could do," he told her. Then he cocked his head curiously. "What did you tell Travis and Hailey? I was gone for a while," he pointed out. "I was deployed again?" That would make the most sense he supposed. "And hows dad," he added on. He hadn't seen Lance in a while either.

Maxine blushed heavily at that "If I hadn't been so stupid we'd of never met." she retorted with a smirk. She gave a nod "I know... I just feel bad..." she admitted as a few tears went down her cheeks. "Yeah I told Hailey and Travis you were deployed again... and Dad, he's been good... been doing a lot to help me out... its been a lot easier on me too... i've been able to focuse on keeping myself and baby number two healthy." she said happily "And of course dad has loved the extra time he gets with both me and Charlie..." she chuckled.

Sage chuckled slightly at her comment and then squeezed her in a hug slightly. "Well, I just almost killed all three of you," he pointed out with a sigh, obviously still really upset about it all. He was trying not to cry....but with Max crying it was even harder not to. He nodded slightly and sighed again. "I'll text him I'm back later. Right now I'm just fine with being with you and Charlie," he mused. He felt a slight smile form on his face when she said Lance had been helpful, and nodded. "Good,* he hummed. "I'm glad he could help. I do feel bad leaving for so long, too," he half sighed again.

"Nah... you wouldn't have let it happen..." he assured "Plus Roxie and I had it handled." she assured him "And plus that wasn't you... that was death..." she said gently kissing his forehead "I know you better then that... I just... with my emotions all over the place already I didn't put two and two together right away..." she admitted a little ashamed of herself despite it being completely understandable before she nodded "Yeah me too... and I get it but you're here now... that's all that matters... and guess what? We won't be skipping ahead to the end this time." she giggled.

Sage hummed rather doubtfully and then nodded. "I know you did...and I know it wasn't my mind...but I was there and conscience," he sighed. "I could have fought him harder or come back before he was there or ... something," he finished lamely. There really wasn't anything he could have done. But he still felt like he should have. But he forced a smile on his face at her giggle and nodded. "if it means I don't have to watch you almost die again, I won't complain," he mused quietly.

Max kissed his forehead "If you would have been able to you would have." she said simply "I'm just glad I figured it out..." she said gently hugging him "I don't blame you at all okay?" she told him "Agreed" she nodded "Me either..." she chuckled "But I do feel like having a snack..." she admitted with a chuckle.

Sage sighed slightly and shrugged. "I guess so,* he muttered, though he really did still blame himself quite a bit. But, it did make him feel better to know that Max didn't blame him about it. He chuckled slightly at her last comment and grinned up at her. "I'm the best snack you'll ever have," he snorted. Then he felt his face redden and he grinned up at her sheepishly. "That was really cheesy," he said, rather embarrassed that the comment had slipped out. He hadn't exactly meant to say that out loud, especially not while she was so pregnant. But, she was sitting on him ...so really she shouldn't be all that surprised.

Maxine giggled at his comment "You are babe... but you can't feed me and the baby... but maybe we can have a bit of fun later if you're up for it old man..." she teased playfully kissing his neck before she got off him and headed to the fridge opening the freezer searching for something to satisfy her craving... when she found her frozen chocolate strawberries she decided that's what she wanted so she grabbed the package out of the freezer and headed back over to Sage as she munched on one "Mmmm" she purred.

Sage chuckled lightly and grinned up at the girl. "that was supposed to stay in my head," he admitted. He squeaked lightly at her peck and stayed laying there while she went to get food. He gave her room in the couch, but if she wanted to sit on him again that was more than fine with him.
