Dale cleans 1/4 of a tomato every minute (0.25), there are 60 minutes in a hour so 0.25 x 60 is 15, then multiply by 12 (hours) - 15 x 12 is 180... now the bit I'm not sure about is whether the container size affects how many tomatoes he cleans i.e., does he clean them using the container or individually?

If he cleans them individually then the answer is 180, but if he cleans them using the container, then it is 100 x 180 = 18,000
