| @buckeye Ah OK. We wouldn't have a guardian dog, just good fences. And bears by a big racetrack? They must have smelled it from miles away. O.o Here they were getting into garbage cans last year, but none this year. Strangely. |

| Gem: Haven't seen bears here, but they have been sighted in the areas around here, even down by Keeneland racetrack! We have lots of coyotes, plus the hawks and owls and other predators. Have Pyrennes guardian dog with the sheep, but the horses mostly aren't bothered. Only time my horses have been attacked it was by other people's dogs who don't keep them under control. My dogs are inside or kenneled when I am not out with them. Border Collies, and they can access the pastures so a few of them who have not learned better yet, mostly the younger ones still learning proper boundaries, will try to herd the horses if they think I am not around lolz |
