Sage grunted and looked over at Anya when she entered the room. He agreed with the doctor, to a certain extent...but he would have to leave at some point, and she couldn't always care for him. Maybe he was making a mistake, continuing this relationship...but he'd rather spend what time he could with her rather then leave, and he had a feeling she felt the same way. He rolled his eyes slightly at her mothering...the cuts weren't all that deep, and the doctor had put...stuff...on the cuts, so he'd really be fine. Sore, yes, but not horribly mangled. At least, not to him anyway. He slipped the tunic on over his head, immediately feeling the warmth of having a shirt, and then the added warmth of the blanket, which was still warm from being pressed against her chest on the way over. He gave her a sheepish smile. "Back to bed," he admitted. "I'm exhausted," he said softly, a slight chuckle in his voice. She could stay if she wanted....and he was sure she would ...but he just wanted to curl up somewhere warm and safe and sleep. He didn't care for how long, he just wanted rest. Real rest, where he didn't have nightmares and didn't wonder if someone would come through the night. Anya wasn't going to let anyone near him, except maybe Luther. "Luther's fine, right?" He didn't want to fall asleep only to find out later Luther was hurt or something.

Anya shrugged slightly and gently wrapped an arm around his back. "Bed it is... and don't worry your self. I'm sure Luther's just fine. I saw him run past, and as long as he didn't get caught he should be ok," she shrugged and helped him up, carefully walking him out the door and towards his own room. She got about half way before deciding she should probably go and make sure he was fine...he didn't need to do what he had, but she was thankful all the same. She was slowly coming to the realisation that she wasn't overly nice when it came to Sage... hell, she'd threatened to kill someone, and that wasn't at all like her. Once she got Sage back to his room, she carefully helped him down and tucked him in under the blankets. "I need to go and make sure Luther is alright... I think I scared him a bit." She chuckled inwardly, "do you need me to stay until you sleep or should you be fine?"

Sage barely heard her talk, he was already falling asleep so he just shrugged. "Do what you have to," he told her, which didn't really answer her question but it was the best she was going to get out of him at that point in time. He was only even half aware that she'd asked him a question...he was warm and cozy and tired...and that combination meant he was asleep pretty quickly after answering the girl. She could always stay, but he also knew he could manage on his own. She could always go find Luther and come back too, he had a feeling he'd be out for a while. He did have half a mind to check on Luther too, but it was a fleeting thought and he'd fallen asleep before he could really do anything about the thought. Besides, he'd seen the bug guy run past them so he was probably fine.

Anya nodded quietly and left the room, though by then the boy had almost seemed half asleep. She did wonder for a moment why she was still doing this... still looking after him, still trying to protect someone who, if she was being honest, would never be completely safe. She thought about why she loved the boy and was still fighting for him, but the truth was that there was no response. She just... did. She wished she could give a better response but that was just it. There was no real reason, and she kind of hated herself for that. She wandered off to find Luther, to make sure he had gotten off unscathed... she'd be mightily impressed if he had. The girl knocked on his door, to which he just kind of yelled for her to come in. "You're ok?" she questioned almost as if she didn't quite believe it. "Surprisingly. No help to you, might I add. The old man could run." He chuckled lightly before tapping the bed for her to come sit.

Sage slept pretty well, for quite some time before he woke up. He would have kept sleeping, though by then he was starting to hurt a bit and laying on the cuts wasn't exactly a pleasant feeling. He groaned and wiggled around so that he was sitting up and reached for a pencil and paper. He could mindlessly draw....that was relaxing enough. He wished he could have just stayed asleep, but apparently his body was disagreeing with him. Whatever, he didn't mind drawing for a bit. He could ignore the rest of it for now, and he did feel a bit better even if he'd only slept for a little while. He'd sleep good that night, at least he hoped so...he was still pretty tired but also knew if he slept all day he might now sleep well that night, and the cycle would continue.

Anya smiled gently and went to sit next to the boy. She was so thankful for him... getting Sage away from his father was a job for two, and she didn't think that anyone would be competent enough to do what he did, other than Luther himself. He wasn't a smart man, not at all, but he knew his job and could follow orders, which is what he did. "Thank you for this... I wouldn't have forgiven myself if we'd just left Sage out there." It was odd... normally you could trust parents with their kids, so, so hard to wrap her head around the fact that she just couldn't do that with Sage. Luther nodded and gave a slight chuckle at the girl. "Of course, I helped... he's my friend too, you know. Maybe we aren't as close, but we get along. The idiot isn't scared of me, and I need more people like that," he chuckled slightly before cocking his head at the girl and inspecting her cheek for a moment, which was red and a little swollen. "What happened to your face? Did you run into another door? You know that's not good for you," he giggled childishly. Anya just shook her head and laughed. "Nothing. I went and screamed at my mother and got what I deserved... should have seen it coming." she chuckled slightly, rolling her eyes at the thought. Sage had said everything was fine and not to do anything about it, but she couldn't let herself do that. They said their goodbyes before Anya wandered out again, probably to go entertain Sage... he was probably either bored or asleep, and the very least she could do was make sure he was still alright. It must have been scary for him... and he still hadn't said anything about it. She wanted him to be there for him if he needed to talk, or even if it was just to sit there. If he wanted to be alone, then she would of course go, but she would still worry.

Sage ended up drawing a couple things...not incredibly detailed but realistic enough. He really just needed to get his father out of his head. His first drawing was of his father, face twisted in anger, though the man was drunk. Not sober like Anya and Luther had just seen ..drunk was better. It was most definitely better. The other two were happier....one was of Anya enjoying herself on new years, and the other was of their ride in the snow the other day. Both were good memories, and sketching them out lifted his spirits a bit. He decided to sketch out the horse he'd ridden ...he made for a good drawing with his chisled features and intelligent face. This one would be a much more detailed sketch ..every bit of chaos in his face had to be perfect, the stallion deserved that much. Chaos...that would be a good name. Yep, that was decided. He'd be calling the horse Chaos from now on, and if Anya really wanted him to name the horse, it'd be chaos.

Anya wandered back towards Sage's room, though she did find herself a little apprehensive... would he be upset about the whole thing? Well, of course, he would be, but would he show it or just bottle it up like he always did? She knew he had been conditioned to keep things in, but she also wished he would talk to her about this sort of thing, about what scared him and what he kept bottled up. Though she doubted that'd ever happen, and she didn't want to change a thing about him... if he wanted to talk then he would, she wouldn't try and pry anything out of him. She wandered to his door, standing quietly for a moment before gently tapping on the door. It was odd for her to ask to come in, she knew that, but for some reason, she just kind of felt like she should. Especially considering he might still be asleep. Once he okayed her to come in, she gently perched on the side of his bed, watching him scribble at whatever he was doing at the desk for a moment before trying a small smile. "What in the world are you doing?" she asked with an amused chuckle.

Sage was fine with her coming in, though he did appreciate her realizing he could want to be alone. But he would want her if he needed her, and he did need her, but really more for just moral support than anything else. Of course, she could come in. He shifted the page of the horse around so she could see that he was doing once she asked, and it was an excuse to half cuddle up. "it's not really done yet," he admitted. It might look almost done, but there was still a lot of detail to add in, small things to add to get the horses character in the picture. He kept working at it, but was aware of Anya also....she could talk if she wanted to.

The girl cocked her head to look at his art before giving a smile, the softest to date. She'd known he was pretty artsy... she found out when he made up the mini tavern, along with the little picture book she'd been given. While she thought everything he did would be, well, perfect, his drawings were something else. She chuckled at his statement before carefully patting his shoulder. "It's amazing... Sage, when did you find the time to learn to draw out in the slums?" She asked with an amused chuckle. The girl let him half cuddle in, though didn't make a move to return the action in fear that she'd scrape a fresh wound and hurt him. He must have really liked this horse... especially to be putting so much effort into drawing something so detailed. "Have you thought on a name for him?"
