Ryker gazed at the kids for a moment before glancing at Jessica, staying silent. When Abby leaned against him, he kissed her head gently. "We'll help them. It'll be okay. Don't worry." He whispered, sighing slightly. This was going to be hard, but they could do it.

"I can't not worry... but what about our baby? What if something in happens? You don't even know how scared I am..." tears filled her eyes. She couldn't cry infront of Jessica. Not now. She grabbed Rykers hand and pulled him to their room, closing the door behind her and shrinking against the door. Hee knees curled up to her chest as she let the tears flow. "I'm sorry. I don't know what got into me" she sniffled and wiped the tears away as best she could. "I don't know..."

"Abby, look at me." Ryker followed her and kneeled down beside her. "I won't LET anything happen. ANYTHING. You don't have to be scared. I'm right here." He said firmly, looking at her. "Don't apologize. I understand, but I also want you to know for certain that I will protect you. That's why I'm here." Ryker finished quietly, though his voice was undaunted and firm. "I will never let anything hurt you or the baby."

Abby looked up at his firm tone and wiped the still flowing tears. "I know... but what if something happened to you! " she put her head against his chest. "I need to just shut up." She sniffled and pulled back. She took deep breaths in order to calm herself down.

"The what ifs are killing my brain." Ryker huffed a little, gently wiping a tear away from her face with his thumb. "Earth to Abby? I'll be fine. I've survived many worse things than a maniac who can't punch straight. Nothing will happen to me, and if somehow SOMETHING does, I'll still be fine because I'll just pull through again and we'll go back to normal life right away. Worrying will only hurt you and the baby."
| |
"They are killing my brain too" Abby leaned her head against his hand. "Why are you so good at comforting me? I can't even think straight half the time" she sat back against the door. "Nine months from now we will have our own little one" she could hear the soft patters of feet and giggles from the kids as their mother rounded them back into the room again. She smiled at the sounds. "Lilly. Rose. Let's go take a nap" she heard Jessica say. "Noo!" The two children protested.

"I was made to comfort you. Even when I'm freaking out on the inside." Ryker half smiled, his eyes softening even more at her next words. "A beautiful miracle." He said quietly, glancing at the wall, towards the direction the noise was coming from.
| |
"Yes. A miracle" she reached forward and hugged Ryker. "What do you want the baby to be? I'm kinda hoping for a boy. One just like you" she smiled and kissed him
| |
"I'm hoping for a boy too. The saying goes... if you have a boy you only have to worry about one boy, but if you have a girl you have to worry about all the boys." Ryker cracked a small smile, reciprocating the kiss gently. "But a little girl with your beautiful eyes would be perfect as well."
| |
"My eyes aren't that pretty" she rolled them and looked to the side. "You better teach the boy how to fight and protect his little lady. And make sure to get him some big muscles. His lady will like that too" she laughed and hugged him again
