Matt opened the front door, stopping only to reply to Trixie. "Uuh..Sure. Just make sure it's not too late, they've got some sort of special event going on." He said, his tone steady and unsure. Before she could get to asking what the event was he offered a quick smile and left, shutting the door quierly behind him. The walk to work cocnsisted of two things: Guilt. Guilt about the obvious, being the car accident, and guilt about shutting Trixie out as much as he was. Still, he had no time to ponder over it much as he arrived, and he got straight to working, doing his regular thing for the most part. As an hour or so went by and the service was getting slightly slow as they set up for the event, he let himself get distracted by the customers. One of which came in quite a lot, that he had talked to a couple times before- Sienna. Sienna was, to him, quite pretty- long, quite dark brunette hair, slim build and generally upper class looks. Whilst she looked polite and quite shy she was mostly the opposite. Flirty, forward and somewhat charming. As she sat at the bar and started up a conversation with Matt, flirt full force, he made no attempt to stop it much like he usually did, instead giving it straight back. The conversation seemed to for once take his mind of the guilt, and he enjoyed that, he enjoyed the attention and the feeling of content without looking at her and immedaitely feeling sick. He even made no attempt to move away from the fingers trailing the back of his hand which he usually would purely down to the fact his boss would be unhappy.

"Alright. I'll drop-" The door shut. "...by." Trixie ended quietly, giving a sigh and laying her head in her hands for a few moments. "Bye." She ended meekly, despite the fact he was gone. She stood and gathered her things, shutting off the TV and wandering back to her house a little while later. She watched TV or scrolled on her phone for an hour or so, maybe a bit less. It was late, but she didn't mind. She started out lightly, pleased to be walking in the cool night air. She made her way into the pub quietly, glancing around and making her way toward the bar. Her eyes caught onto him quickly- and then the woman sitting in front of him. They were both leaned into each other, and she had her fingertips dragging down his hand in an obviously flirty way. She slowed slightly, the first emotion being confusion. Yet the longer She looked at it, the more obvious it became. Then the feeling of something between jealousy, hurt, and insignificance. She got to the bar and didn't sit down, hovering behind a stool, close enough to hear their conversation. She hesitated and glanced back toward the door, blinking at the sudden misty eyed feeling.

Matt looked up briefly from the slightly intense eye contact with Sienna, scanning the bar to see if anyone needed serving. To his releief they didnt, except there was one person hovering- Trixie. He bit his lip, a feeling of nausea washing over him, masked only by a feeling of slight fear. He grabbed the cloth off his shoulder, told Sienna he would be back and made his way towards Trixie, biting his inner lip nervously. "Trixie.." He said slowly, unsure of what his next words should be. Act like nothing happened? It was stupid and cruel, but what else was he meant to do? "I didn't realise you would come down so early" he said, offering a weak smile. Matt knew he had been caught, but for some stupid reason his mind was trying to justify it like he hadnt spent the last month or so stupidly attatched to the girl in front of him. He glanced back at Sienna, who was on her way a little towards then, wincing at the fact he hadnt realised how little she actually had on.

Trixie took a half step back when he said her name, flinching like he had hit her. She brushed at her eyes angrily as he continued to speak, shaking her head. She didn't want to shed any tears. "She's pretty. Really beautiful." She said flatly, her voice shaking out of frustration as she gestured to the other girl. "Gorgeous. Distracting." She continued quietly, making sure he could hear every word. At the realization that the other woman was wearing almost nothing, she got even angrier. "I might be upset, Matteo, but I'm not stupid. Don't act like I am, it's disrespectful." She hissed coldly, glaring at him with a blatantly disgusted look. "If you didn't want to attempt a relationship with me, you could have said that. I would have been fine with it. I would have accepted it. But you told me you wanted to try. And whatever the fuck that was? It sure as hell wasn't trying anything with me." She continued. She turned to the other woman, her demeanor switching to neutrality. "You can have him, if you want. But I wouldn't reccomend it." She said quietly, casting a last glance at him. "I don't want to see your face again. Enjoy the rest of your night." She finished quietly, turning on her heel and walking as fast as her feet would take her outside. She was fighting sobs, and as soon as the fresh air hit her face, she broke into silent tears.

Matt couldnt get a word out to anything Trixie said, she had already made her way out the door by the time she finished. He swore silently, ignoring the calls of one of his colleagues about needing him behind the bar to make his way and follow her. Once he got outside, he began to talk. "Firstly, what on earth do you mean I didn't try? What the fuck do you think i've been doing for the past month or so? Trying, Trixie, I was. For a while you were the only thing on my mind, and that's a promise. But you know I cant actually do it, I cant force myself into a relationship." He said, his voice rising as he spoke. By the end of it, and the mention of him not trying, he was yelling, a lot louder than he had ever done before. "And you know damn well you wouldn't have been fine with it, if you were I might aswell label you for not trying too, right? I'm not blaming you for what I've done in the slightest but just try and see what you've said to me actually means" he finished, standing so close to her she had no option to leave. He wanted to talk it out, finally try at least.

"I never ASKED you to force yourself into a relationship, Matt. I would never ask you to do that, and I don't want you to do that. I didn't say you never tried, but you aren't now. Haven't been for a while, by the past tense you're using." Trixie said flatly, doing her best to keep her voice steady through the tears. "I never ASKED you to force yourself into a relationship, Matt. I would never ask you to do that, and I don't want you to do that. I didn't say you never tried, but you aren't now. Haven't been for a while, by the past tense you're using." Trixie said flatly, doing her best to keep her voice steady through the tears. "Yes and I'm using the past tense because i cannot look a you without feeling incredibly sick, Trixie. I cant, I just cant do it, I dont care how much you tell me "oh i dont care you killed me, that doesnt matter" it matters to me and a hell of a lot more. The more I remember from what actually happened the worse it gets. I'm not attempting to get pity or sympathy from you, i in no way want or need it, in fact slap the shit out of me if you want. But now you know" He finished, breathing heavily having yelled again. He was on the brink of tears just talking about it, and he had to bite his lip rather hard to avoid the tears actually coming. "If you meant every word that badly and cant see where i'm coming from then forget it. Believe it or not, i was falling deepl in love with you, and all i can safely say is i'm sorry. For not telling you up front, for the whole thing with..her in there..for the distance. And I mean it." he said, his tone lowered so much he made himself feel uncomfortable. "Go." he ended, stepping aside to let Trixie walk away.

Trixie barely choked out a bitter laugh when he spoke, shaking her head. "I'm so sorry that I make you sick. I'm so sorry that you killed me. I'm so sorry that I love you enough not to care about it. I don't know how to fix that for you. If I make you nauseous every time you see me, then it obviously doesn't matter how much I do or don't care. No amount of time or energy from me can fix that." She swiped at her tears so roughly it left slight marks on her face. "You were. Obviously not anymore. I was already in love with you. Maybe I still am. But if it was that easy for you to walk up to another woman and shamelessly flirt with her when I couldn't see? I don't have words for that. And I can't accept your apology right now. I don't know if I ever will be able to." She finished quietly, walking as soon as he let her go. She didn't look back, as badly as she wanted to. She simply set her head in her hands and walked as fast as she could toward her house. Then, she changed her mind and set off toward the fountain.

Matt listened to Trixie speak, unsure of whether to feel angry or upset. Obviously, he felt both. "Right. Fine. You're so unbelievably selfish and try your best to make out your're not." he hissed. "Don't accept the apology, I don't care. At this point stay out of my life, I dont care. But I can promise you, I love you so much" he finished, watching as she walked off. He pretty much threw himself back againt the wall, dragging his hands down his face. At that point he felt like he was at the end of his tether, completely helpless. All he wanted to do was yell, punch whatever he saw though he was restricted by the fact he could hardly breathe. He opened up to her for what? It to be thrown back in his face? True, he had brought it up at the worst time possible but to him there was no other time he could. Once he had calmed down a little and was able to freely breathe again he made his way back inside, focusing purely on his job at hand, not entirely knowing that was the worst thing possible.
