Zephyr didn't believe that, but he wasn't one to argue. "Ha, no." He answered her question with a snort. His eyebrows creased slightly as she relayed the information. "I'd rather the stands be as empty as stores on Superbowl Sunday." He sighed slightly before shaking his head. "I wonder how many will come to the softball game. I wish I could go around and ask people what they find more entertaining about basketball- really, in my opinion, it would be extremely boring to watch. Run back and forth a gazillion times, sometimes make a hoop usually fail. Unless your playing, it doesn't sound interesting. Softball is different every time though. I'd think it'd be more entertaining." He thought aloud before glancing at Sophia.

Sophia shrugged "the only difference is the running is a circle and not back and forth. You hit something but for the most part the entire field is completely silent. Umps have changed the rules to where you can't 'distract' the batter with cheers and sayings while your out on the field. It's stupid. Now, every time someone comes I can practically hear the conversations from the other side for eh field. I would much rather watch basketball. I don't understand how you can throw the ball in the air and it go into a hoop about as wide as the ball is!" She shook her head, hee brown curls flopping around. She had to take the half Oo out for practice, but there was a small crimp where she had it in all day.

Zephyr lifted his eyebrows slightly. "I'm sure it would be much louder if the people on the field could jeer at the batter all the time." He joked, though that did sound a LITTLE quiet. "Still, in a basketball game you hear the squeaking of shoes and the thumping of a ball, occasionally the satisfying swish of the ball going in the net, and sometimes cheering. But hey, everyone has what they like and don't like." He commented before chuckling at her words. "Practice. Years and years and years of practice. And good aim. And a strong arm. And a lot of other things. Like luck. I swear, unless you're an Olympic champion basketball is ALL luck." Zephyr snorted slightly.

Sophia smiled. "How long have you been playing basketball?" She tilted her head. She didn't know how open he would be since they literally had now each other for a week. Her mind flitted to the next day, silently planning out what she would wear and if she would have time to change after practice before the game

Zephyr ran a hand through his onyx black hair. "Uhm... actually playing or practicing? I started playing as young as I could- I don't know exactly when. Maybe 4th grade? But I've had a hoop in my backyard since I was 5 and I have been practicing ever since then." He explained before tilting his head slightly and trying not to worry about the coming day. "What about you, if you don't mind me asking?"

"Wow. So like forever?" Sophia's eyes were wide with amazement. "I started tee ball when I was two and a half. Now here I am. I stoped for a year in elementary school because of an accident but I missed it so much I fought against the odds and now I'm back" a haze seemed to fall over her face, shielding him from her mix of emotions. She could feel her heart pounding against her bruise. That stupid bruise had scared her and her parents more then anything lately. Coach had gone through all the necessary procedures to make sure her heart didn't skip a beat or anything.

Zephyr barked out a laugh. "How old do you think I am?" He asked with an amused smile. When she started speaking his eyebrows raised in surprise. "Two and a half? I probably couldn't even lift a basketball that young." He snorted, his head tilting slightly as she mentioned an accident. He wanted to comment, but he didnt when her face glazed over- it was obviously a bit of a sensitive subject. "Well it's a good thing you're back. You are really good at it." He commented quietly, glancing at the clock. "I'd better run. I never informed my parents of staying late. See you tomorrow." He said, nodding in goodbye before scooping up his bag and walking out.

Sophia gave a soft smile. "Bye" she said before walking down the bleachers. She drove home then flopped onto her bed. She was out in a few minutes. Sophia woke up then stopped. "Basketball game tonight" she reminded herself before pulling herself out of bed. She got ready then drove to school. "Made it" Izzy said as the two stopped at their lockers

Zephyr flopped in his bed at home and passed out. In the morning he awoke and stared at the ceiling for a couple minutes, mentally preparing himself for the day ahead. He then clambered out of bed and threw on some random clothes. Only his jersey mattered today. He brushed through his thick hair- with a real hairbrush and not just his fingers- grabbed his stuff, and rushed off to school. When Zeph got there his brain was 100 percent on the basketball game. It would be after school, so he would have to struggle through school, but there'd be no practice for any sport. They were the Bravo Bears, which was what they had decided to name their team- he was a little pleased that the name came from his Nickname, Smokey Bear. They were playing the Rowdy Lions. He went to his classes, which seemed like they were going so slow the time might even have stopped. When he got to lunch he was a bit nervous, anticipation building.

Coach had called off practice, and Sophia was extremely relieved. She had barely gotten any sleep last night, and it seemed no one else had either. She got through all her classes without a problem before heading for the lunchroom. "Hey! You ready for te big game?"
