Sage sort of nodded slowly in response to her first comment, sort of figuring out what the girl was trying to say. So they did like each other in that way...now it was just making it natural. "You're going to have to take charge for a lot of things," he mused. "And put up with a lot from me," he added softly. Of course, he was disappointed when she pulled away, and he couldn't help but be scared she'd decided he just wasn't worth it. Though, once she started talking, he shook his head quickly, reaching for the girl, who was obviously worried he'd not liked something. "No no, it's ok," he said quickly, hands holding an warm each...gently of course. "I was surprised, yes, but not in a bad way," he promised. "It's just...I can't remember a time when someone's touch didn't...hurt," he added softly. "I was nice to feel." Lizzie didn't hurt him of course, but she didn't really count. "T, I'm not much. I'm not super good looking, or strong, and I come with a lot of baggage and issues....but if you're willing to take me I'll never not be happy about it," he promised, searching her face again, just wanting some kind of reassurance that he wasn't overstepping. "but I want to know....if I wasn't your only option....if this whole apocalypse thing wasn't happening....would you still pick me?" He needed to know. Because of the answer was no, she didn't really love him. She was just desperate for love.

T was beginning to flush a little, marveling at the sudden seriosity of the conversation. She crossed her arms gently over her chest, so anxious she had upset him somehow. She was breathing rapidly, and she tilted her head faintly at him for his first comments. "Neither of those are a problem. I'll never have to... put up with you. It's a pleasure to be with you, always." She answered quietly, giving him a slightly sad look that he though so little of his worth.

She blinked in surprise as he reached for her, taking in a soft breath as he gently took a hold of her arms. She uncrossed her arms quietly, leaning into him as he spoke. She frowned up at him, so heartbroken over his experiences that she had to move closer and, tentatively, lay her hand over his chest. "I never want to hurt you. I will never intend to hurt you. If I ever do, god, please tell me." She responded quietly, soothed by his words but not soothed enough to attempt anything more. She frowned as he continued on, shaking her head in sadness as he thought so little of himself. "I think you're exceptionally strong. I think you're exceptionally good-looking. I don't care about your baggage. That's a lot to me." She answered seriously, moving closer to him so they were almost chest to chest. "Believe it or not, I don't usually make up excuses to sit in a man's lap and play with his hair a day after meeting him. So far; that's just you." She teased softly, setting her free hand on his jaw.

She took in a breath at his question, leaning in and setting her forehead against his chest while she thought for a moment. "I've known you for a day, Sage. I hit it off with you. Yes, I think I would. I can't tell you for sure because I barely know you; it wouldn't be fair to pretend I'm certain. But I can't express how badly I do, really, desperately want to get to know you, and be in a relationship with you." She answered honestly, gently running her thumb along his jawline with a worried expression, desperately hoping he wouldn't react negatively to her answer. "Is... is that okay?" She asked softly.

Sage sort of waited with a cocked head, hoping for a positive response from the girl. When he got one, he felt all the tension leave his shoulders, and he let out a heavy breath before offering her a small smile. "Then you're the first one to think that, aside from maybe liz," he mused, slightly shocked when she moved in closer all of a sudden, though he did lean into her touch, quite glad to hear her words. It really did mean a lot....more than he'd ever be able to espress to the girl.

Her comment about the haircut got a chuckle from him though, and he smiled lightly over at her. "I did figure you didn't really have to get that close," he teased her gently. When she put her hand on his face, he couldn't help but lean into the touch slightly, nodding as she exolained the situation. "It all seems so crazy to feel this way already," he murmured. "I don't know how I'll do, trying to figure this whole love thing out," he warned softly. "But...I'd like to try."

"Then I must be the only human you've ever met with basic human decency." T scoffed, still speaking softly, as if any increase in volume might break whatever spell was going on between them. She chuckled softly at his comment, giving a mock-coy shrug. "I was doing a thorough job." She said teasingly, watching him lean into her hand with a giddy rush of excitement.

She simply offered him a smile as he finished. "That's all I'm asking for." She nodded quietly, gently tilting his head down so she could press a kiss to his forehead. After, she slid the hand over his heart around his body to rest on his back, drawing him into a gentle embrace. She set her forehead lightly against his, their noses brushing faintly against each other, and simply closed her eyes. She dragged her thumb gently back and forth across his cheek, simply enjoying the comfort that came from contact.

Sage sort of just hummed softly in response to her comment, chuckling in response to her tease. "That's true," he mused lightly before giving her a soft smile and nod, letting her pull him in happily. He closed his eyes when she moved to press her lips to his head, leaning against her when she pulled them together, wrapping his arms around her and leaning into the embrace. It was all so nice....her smell, her touch, all of it. His emotions were all mixed up and jumbled and he wasn't sure how to control them....but he didn't think he really had to. Not with her.

T was more than thrilled to be settled in his arms, snuggling up to him ever so slightly as he pulled her into an embrace. She gently tilted his head so she could bring their lips closer, hesitating for a moment and opening her eyes. He jumbled her thoughts so thoroughly it was hard to think through the closeness and the warmth. She was hardly breathing, but she managed to think coherently enough to speak. "Can I... would you let me kiss you?" She asked hesitantly, another worried expression on her face. What if he thought her question was strange? What if he said no?

Sage felt his heart speed up again when she nestled into the hug, tightening his hold on her slightly. When she moved his head, he was more than willing to let her, and at her question a smile formed on his lips and he opened his eyes with a small chuckle. "You don't have to ask that," he hummed gently, gaze dropping to her lips, which were really quite close to his by now. Which...let's be completely honest, she'd already taken a while to try and kiss him. Of course, he wasn't upset or anything...but he did want to just curl up with her and never let go. That wasn't exactly realistic... especially since they wouldn't even be sleeping at the same time, unless the dog took a watch or something...but it was nice to just know he was wanted by someone. And not just because he looked good or whatever amy had thought.

T offered him a slight grin, flushing faintly at his answer. "Just making sure." She quipped softly, pulling him closer and closing her eyes before she pressed a kiss to his lips. She gently smoothed her hand up his cheek to rest in his hair, a pleasant sense of comfort washing over her as she did so.

Sage chuckled softly in response to her comment, and he would've responded, except by then the girl has pressed her lips against his, and he completely forgot everything that he was going to say. He really couldn't help but press himself firmer against her lips, closing his eyes again and pulling her tighter against him. He was practically shaking by then...though not in a bad way. It was more just...relief and thanks than anything, he supposed. He was just glad to be in this kind of position. Glad she wanted him. Because damn....he wanted her, more than anything. Well, he loved Liz too, but that was a whole different thing.

T shifted furthur into him as he tightened his hold on her body, leaning into him so much so she had to move her hand from his back to settle it on the floor beside his hip. She tilted her head to deepen the kiss as best she could for a few moments before she pulled away, both because she was breathless and his faint trembling worried her. She tucked her head into the crook of his neck, nuzzling in slightly. "What's wrong?" She asked softly, pressing a few gentle kisses down the length of his neck as she waited for an answer.
