Dakota didn't know why it was so painful to tell him. They were getting married, after all. "She.... beat me and told me how I was useless and how she hated me. I didn't think a mother was so capable of hating her own child so much..." Dakota paused, fighting back the memories. "It got to the point that I was fighting for my life once. She had been drunk and I had left a knife on the counter from dinner earlier that night. She found me in my room and I had to call for an ambulance once she was locked out of my room and barely concious. I didn't waste any time moving out once I was discharged from the hospital." She said quietly
