"Me, prejudiced? Never" Matt smiled, running his fingers along the table, tracing patterns. "If so, thats slightly strange. I guess it helps some though" he shrugged, stopping talking briefly as the drinks were brought over. After he thanked the waitress he leaned back on the table, a little closer to Trixie than before. "I guess we'll have to get used to being here now, wherever we are. It doesnt seem as if we can actually leave, which is a shame. Everyone seems so uncomfortably happy" he sighed, locking his gaze with Trixie. He offered another softer but weaker smile as he did so.

Trixie smiled at him and thanked the waitress for their drinks before she turned back to him, her head leaned on her hand. She watched him lean in, her smile brightening a little. "Why should it be a shame? We could be happy, and then maybe it wouldn't seem so strange. Or we could both be critical of everyone being happy, but either way we'll have each other. We'll be alright." She smiled, meeting his gaze and returning the soft smile.

"I'd rather be critical, at first at least. Then when we're happy it wont matter." Matt said, in a sort of 'its only okay when I do it' sort of way. He took a sip of his drink and then set it back down, looking down at the table. "Do you..Well I assume you remember what happened before we came here? Just.any of it? he asked, though regretted bringing that up as soon as it left his mouth. The argument had hurt them both, and hitting someone with a car? Traumatic. Not to mention neither of them had any clue whether the woman and boy survived. As badly as Matt wanted to talk about it, it seemed like a topic for more serious conversation far into the future.

"Oh, got it. I'll make sure to follow your lead on that." Trixie teased, blinking at the question. She leaned back at it, sinking into her seat slightly and glancing off at a wall. Her face fell and her mood sank considerably. "I remember you saying you wanted us to lead different lives, and I remember running a car into two innocent people, yes. Why?" She asked quietly, turning her gaze back to him in a tired way. She had been desperately trying to forget both of those things, but she supposed it was hard to do that when someone else was trying to do the opposite.

Matt leant back, putting his head in his hands for a second. "Oh dont put it like that Trixie you make it sound awful" he groaned, rubbing his forehead in frustration. She did make it sound awful, of course, but thats probably because it was awfu. It made sense. He brought his hands back down to the table, fiddling with his glass as he spoke. "I was just wondering if you remembered. And if you wanted to, you know..Actually keep talking to each other. As friends of course, considering I said what I did." he spoke, his tone a lot more nervous than he had vowed for it to be when thinking of bringing up. Much to his relief the waitress made her way back over asking about food, and he ordered briefly before settling back, waiting for Trixie to do the same.

"It is awful, Matt." Trixie answered quietly, leaning back to stare at the ceiling. "Matt, I wouldn't-" She sighed when the waitress came up, ordering quickly and watching her walk away before she went back to speaking. "Yes, Matt, I remember. And Iwouldn't have stayed with you all day if I didn't want to keep talking to you. If you want to do that as friends, fine, so be it. I want it to be more. I already told you I don't give a shit what took me out of the world, and I still don't." She sighed, gently pinching the bridge of her nose and tilting her head back.

"Alright, christ. I was only making sure, I wouldnt know if your mind changed or something" Matt sighed, staring out the window towards the passers by. "And i'll have a hard time believing you'd ever want us to be more than friends, or catering to that. I can only say i'll try" he added, his tone highly apologetic. He badly wanted to be with Trixie, even for the fact he could hardly remember what life was like dating her. All he really knew is that at least then, he was happy.

"Trying is better than giving up." Trixie shrugged, tilting her head back down and dropping her hand. She offered him a small smile and sighed, fiddling with her fingers. She desperately wanted to be with Matt- to her, there wasn't any other option. He was her happy.

"Maybe. We'll just have to wait and see" Matt said, smiling faintly as he spoke. Eventually, the food came and he refrained from really saying much else until they were finished. When he was, he pushed his plate to the side and stared out the window, scanning everyone and everything that was in his sight. To see if he could remember even the littlest thing from his past life, and if he had actually ever been there before. As much as the memories building seemed to play on his brain, and the fountain too, it was very much useless. He turned back towards Trixie, offering a smile. "You ready to go?" he asked fiddling with his fingers.

"I guess so." Trixie shrugged faintly, offering him a weak, weak smile in return. She didn't eat very much of her food, mainly pushed it around and stared at the tabletop. When she saw him push his plate aside, she mirrored him, glancing over her shoulder to see what he was studying. She turned back to him when he spoke, nodding and returning the smile slightly. "Sure. Would you rather watch the movie at yours or mine?" She asked, offering her hand to him to see if he was willing to hold it.
