When Caden walked back over to her and sat down, she moved to snuggle against his side, playing with the hem of his shirt. "You'll be safe?" She asked

"We'll see.The trip is in Queens out of all places.Shootings practcally every night but,I'll manage." He says,wrapping a arm around her.

"You've survived worse, so you better come back in one piece" She stated, her decision final

"True." He says,shuddering.Remebering the times he almost died.Rather it was shootings or drownings,his own mind.He'd survived,and thats all that mattered.

Rose closed her eyes, her mind wandering to her brother and his threat. What if he sees me without Caden? He still hasn't forgiven me for the last couple times I went to the house....

"I'm going to try to work on something.Please,don't bother." He says,getting up and walking to his study,shutting the door behind him.Caden put on his glasses and opened his laptop,signing in and opening the app,code exploding across the screen.

Rose nodded and watched him as he left. She waited a moment before going upstairs and laying on the bed, exhaustion overcoming her. She checked her phone and saw a text from Katie, but was too tired to respond.

Caden grinned as he shut off his phone,typing away on his laptop.The sun had set,stars appereing.

Rose continued to sleep, the nightmare of her brother chasing her coming over her again for the fifth night in a row

Caden worked until morning dawned,eyes red with blue shadows under them.He walked out of the study,leaving the text open.He walked into the bedroom and shut the door,slumping onto the bed and falling asleep
