One of the bullets had clipped the ground right below his foot, causing him to trip and slam his head on a stone, going out like a lightbulb. They dragged him back, slinging him in the backseat before ziptying his ankles and wrists, making it impossible to escape as they continued driving.

Caden stayed unconscious, only awaking hours later after they'd deposited both him and Emily in a room. "Hu....what?" He muttered

"Em?" He started again, seeing her and starting to crawl over, to dizzy to walk. "Em, hey," Caden said, putting a hand on her shoulder, sitting in front of her.
