Quinn was tired and sore and still bleeding a little, but she couldn't help but laugh at Sage's mental image. Well, at least she knew for sure he was okay. She was glad that he took her words to heart- the ones about eating. He needed the food. Even after she fed both babies, she decided to eat more. Every bite felt so good.. it tasted good, and it calmed her rather irritated stomach. As he spoke, she nodded slowly. That would be a good place to rest. "I'll get you there. Somehow." She stated, already thinking about the best way to do that. She did make a good crutch- just helping him walk may be the fastest and easiest way to get him there. Her mind wandered to way back when they were at that cave, after he had mostly healed. That's when it all really started. She wished things could be that easy and carefree. Where they would play games, and swim, and spend time together. She could prove yet again how she was excellent at stalking and fighting, as she was a mere human and she still ended up taking him down the last *game* they had gallivanted around at. Those had been much better times. She glanced down at the babies, Frynn who was trying to crawl away and Caspian who was staring at the ceiling, smiling fondly. They were so perfect. Caspian with his little green eyes, and Frynn with Her bright amber eyes. Just like Sage's. Quinn sighed quietly, a more content sigh, re-wrapping what food they hadn't eaten.

Sage ate happily, settling down again once he'd finished as he waited for Quinn to gather the food up and put it away, keeping an eye on the kids as she settled everything. He nodded in response to her comment, trusting her to get him there eventually. "Settle the kids down and then we can figure me out," he hummed lightly, figuring it wouldn't really be something the kids should have to see or hear. Even with Quinn, it would hurt, they both knew that. He watched her with a cocked head when he noticed her thinking, a sort of smile on her face. "what are you thinking about," he asked curiosly.

Quinn nodded- it would be best to get the kids out of there beforehand. However, she just wanted to sit and relax for a couple minutes. Breathe the air. Appreciate being alive and with Sage. She closed her eyes for a couple moments, still thinking about the good times they used to have. And, how they first met... how much she thought she would hate him. How wrong she was. How good of a thing it was that she was wrong. As Sage spoke, she glanced up at him. "Mostly you." She answered with a teasing smile, then elaborated. "Just thinking about what we used to do, and how we met. The past. Memories we made." She answered quietly, staring off into the distance for a couple seconds. "How glad I am to have you, and Caspian, and Frynn. How lucky." Quinn said with an even wider smile, looking back at him. "And how absolutely and amazingly grateful I am that you're so forgiving. Now, let's try and get you to walk 20 feet." She joked quietly, standing and gently picking up Frynn and Caspian. She walked to where he had pointed out, opening the door and setting the babies down on the couch- they could sleep there alone for a couple minutes. She then went back to him, kneeling down and taking his hand. "Ready?" Quinn asked, prepared to get under his mostly un-injured shoulder to help hold him up.

Sage had chuckled softly when she admitted what she was thinking about. "It seems like so long ago we met," he mused softly. "It wasnt even an entire year ago," he realized with a start. It was close but ...their anniversary would actually be in 8 days. It was a sudden thought, and he really couldn't believe it. It was definitely a shock to him. He'd have to figure someyhing out. "you know, you're going to have to promise not to listen to what your anniversary present is going to be," he noted with slight amusement, giving her a crooked grin when she said he was so forgiving. "Well I figured I couldn't just walk away from that pretty little face," he mused, reaching up to pat Quinn's face fondly. When she mentioned moving him, he wrinkled his nose slightly, preparing himself for what he knew she coming, letting Quinn help support his weight. He'd lost a lot of weight, so he wasnt super heavy....but even so, it was a struggle to get him to his feet. He'd attempted to just...walk, but he let out a sharp bark of pain when his hip protested, so he decided to just hop alongvbest he could untik he collapsed onto the cot.

Quinn thought about it for a couple moments, a bit shocked when she did realize. Not even a year. Wow. She did some calculations in her head, then a smile grew on her face. "Pfft, who said I would do anything of the sort?" She winked, grinning. "No promises." She added with a jokingly evil look, already plotting what she was going to do. Actually, no, there was no plotting needed. She just wanted to give him a nice, quiet day where nothing went wrong. If that was even possible. His next words tugged her out of her thought, also bringing a smile to her face, paired with an amused snort. "Yeah, right. I sure hope that's not the only reason you didn't walk away, sir, or I'll be mad." She teased lightly, then decided to focus on the task ahead. She helped as much as she could, but she couldn't help but worry about how.. light he was. And skinny. With SO MANY WOUNDS. She really hoped he would heal well. Her brows furrowed slightly as she started to worry more, and although she did help the best she could, it was obvious she was distracted. When Sage was down on the cot, Quinn walked over to pick up Caspian and Frynn, sitting beside him while staring at them. Not really at them, per say, but more.. through them. Her eyes were glazed over, as she wasn't really looking at anything, just deep in thought. About a gazillion things, since that was how her brain functioned. Always running.

Sage had rolled his eyes in response to her comment about their anniversary, shaking his head in amusement in response to her comment. Then, he gave her a grin when she teased him again, winking lightly. "maybe, maybe not," he chirped happily. Once he'd collapsed onto the cot though, he sort of just....lay there, catching his breath, and closing his eyes as the pain ebbed. Luckily, he had whatever seed she'd given him in his system, which was probably very helpful. He'd opened his eyes, or rather eye since one was bandaged, and peered over at Quinn, brows furrowing worridly. "Quinn, I'm fine," he noted, resting his head against her leg tiredly.

Quinn pursed her lips slightly, still looking concerned, staring at the wall as she thought. As Sage spoke, she glanced over, her shoulders sagging slightly. "No, you're not fine, Sage. You have about 42 bullet wounds, not even including the buck shot, you're all sliced up, you're dehydrated, half starved, skinny as hell, and it's my fault. All my fault. It's not too hard to see how neither of us are fine." Her voice dropped to a whisper near the end, and she dropped her gaze, running a hand through her hair.

Surprise flickered in his eyes when she mentioned his injuries, eyebrows skyrocketing into his hair. "42 bullets," he repeated, clearly shocked about that as he blinked. Ok, so he hadn't expected that. he'd known he'd gotten shot a lot...but he wasn't sure how he hadn't bled out days before if he'd been shot that many times. "I haven't been able to keep anything down for a couple of days...and we just ate and drank, so that won't take long for me to get back to normal," he pointed out. "And just because you snapped at me didn't mean I had to attack every farm in the area," he added with a snort, feeling a sharp pang of guilt about that now. He moved to take her free hand and hold it, squeezing it gently. "Quinn, if I can forgive you then you can forgive yourself," he murmured, eyes fluttering closed in exhaustion again by then. He'd started the whole thing by jumping to conclusions and making an isntinct-based decision to react with violence....it certainly wasn't her fault.

Quinn frowned slightly as he took her completely seriously. Obviously, she had been freaking out a little, and may have exaggerated slightly. "I was exaggerating. You got hit with 16 bullets in all, not including the buck shot, again. However, 16 is a LOT OF BULLETS." She explained with a small snort, then sighed, leaning into him just slightly, but not enough to hurt any of his gazillion wounds. "We can put it behind us, then." She murmured, closing her eyes for a couple moments. She had been running on nothing for the past day, and she was absolutely exhausted now that no one was in immediate danger. Granted, she also felt much safer with Sage. "I can attempt to do that." A half smile flickered across her face. "Have a good rest." She mumbled quietly, her voice dropping off into nothing as her eyes drifted shut. Unconscious moments later, she fell into a deep sleep for the first time in days. Quinn was awoken by the sound of Frynn making unhappy noises. Hoping the baby hadn't woken Sage, she quickly quieted the infant, starting to feed her as well. She glanced outside the building, seeing that it was light out- had they slept all the way through the night? It was amazing the babies hadn't woken them up before then. She did feel much more rested, although still a bit weary. Thankfully, her day was brightened as she again reminded herself she was with Sage, and that everything would eventually be okay. And return back to normal, hopefully.

Sage had felt a light blush color his face when she mentioned she'd exaggerated the number of bullets...he should have known that, if he had been completely honest. "Oh," was all he managed to say rather embarrassed about that for a moment or two. When she agreed to put it behind her he nodded, a smile tugging at the corners of his lips. It was a small one, tired, but it was a smile nonetheless. "Good," he'd chirped happily, before passing out. When he woke up later, it was light in the barn, and from what he could see of the sun, it was close to noon. He blinked a couple times, trying to wake himself up a little bit more as he shifted inot a more confortable position. He glanced around, noting the babeis asleep and Quinn doing what she could to clean up their room. He felt his breath hitch when he noted how pretty she was....he'd forgotten how much he really did find ehr attractive as well as smart. Of course, the fact that she was a good person was more important...bud damn, did she look good. He found himself ratehr irritated he couldnt just walk over there and kiss her, mind wandering back to the cave, when the kids had been concieved. It had quite honeslty been one of the best days of his life...then he chided himself, figuring she may not appreciate the way his mind worked at times like this, where she did something like bend over to pick something up and his eyes lingered on her behind. Besides, he was hurt, and the kids were here, so he couldn't do much at the moment. He sort of just flushed and hummed a goog morning to her, half hoping she hadn't been listening to his mind, and half hoping she was.
