Sage stayed by the fire, figuring she'd appreciate some privacy while she slept. He turned his gaze to the fire, watching the flames leap about and devour the wood he occasionally threw into it, keeping an eye out for anything abnormal

Elara stayed awake, not being able to fall asleep. She sighed and eventually stood up,walking out of the shelter and plopping down next to the fire, watching as Sage tossed the wood into the fire, the flames devouring anything they could get their hands on.She held a straight face, lost in thought as she realised the weight of what she was doing.Leaving the kingdom with no notice, putting trust in somebody who she's had two conversations with, heading into a unknown spot of the woods, finding Varys after not seeing him for a year straight, and finally, hunting again.

Sage glanced over at the girl when she moved back to the fire, staying there for a while longer before grunting. "If you're gonna stay awake, I'm gonna sleep," he noted, crawling over towards the shelter and letting himself drift off. It was light...he didn't entirely trust the girl yet. But even so, a few hours or rest was appreciated.

Elara just glaced up at him, nodding her head when he spoke. She shuffled and grabbed her bow, drawing it closer to her incase she would need it,perhaps she would.

Sage didn't take long to fall asleep ...he'd figured out how to force his body to crash. Of course, he normally didn't need to, but even so. Barely sleeping meant you passed out when you got a second, but he had trained himself to stay in a light sleep. To stay somewhat aware of his surroundings while he slept.

Elara glanced around, noticing a movement in the distance. - Stay here, keep guard, fight with your life.- She thought,a sigh escaping her lips. The princess stood, moving to a different spot of the small 'camp' they had going on.

Sage slept rather well until he heard a branch break in the distance, and he rose his head, instantly awake as his ears flicked slightly. Whatever was out there....it was big. Which meant it had the potential to be dangerous. He joined the girl outside, eyes scanning the forest and ears perked. He didn't really care if she noticed they were pointed and guessed he wasn't fully human....their safety was more important. Besides, he doubted she'd do anything about it.

Elara notched a arrow in her bow and aimed at the noise,it only being Varys trotting out. "Really?Had me scared there buddy.Don-" She started, being cut out by another noise.Varys turned and stared at the noise, ears fixated on it before baring his teeth and growling, staring into the woods. It snapped again,Varys taking off like a rocket and darting through the woods.Elara glanced back at Sage and shrugged, starting to stalk her way into the forest aswell.Varys went silent and trotted back out, tail wagging and a faint stain of fresh blood on his muzzle. "The heck? It's gone now,I guess." She mumbled,Varys barking and turning,Elara following and the two eventually coming across the doe,or the source of the sound.

Sage was ready to attack whatever the noise was as well, though when he recognized the wolf scent he relaxed. There was something else out there though, so he kept scanning the forest, staring tk move towards the sound at the same time as the wolf, springing into the brush. He halted when he saw the deer, humming. "The question is, did he kill it or did something else do it," he murmured, turning to scan the surrounding area. If there was a predator big enough to kill a doe without a noise, it could mean big trouble.

"Well,he has the blood on his muzzle but,I wouldn't beleive it.It could be him, but then again, we're in the woods,in the middle of the night, and if it wasn't him, that means something killed the doe without making a sound, which means trouble." She said under her breath, watching as the wolf trotted up to her. "Not now,not now." Elara muttered to Varys, turning him away.
