Cass looked up after he let go, as he walked away. She stood there in the mist of confusion. Her heart and head were speaking two completely different languages.

Cass followed not long behind him. Finishing up, locking Salem's stable door. She ushered Lunch, the dog, into the house. She saw Caleb but before she reached the table, Jaxon stood in front of her. "Can you help me this evening? A new batch of grain is arriving ready for the winter months" Cass looked at him, and remembered that Caleb had asked if she would play cards with him. "I...Sure" She watched as Jaxon nodded with approval and turned towards the table. Cass looked at Caleb, guilt flashing across her face. "Sorry" She mouthed again. She took up her spot and started to eat.
