"not far." Florida thought for a second as she quickly began keeping Grace alive. "like five minutes away from the school, but I don't know if they are home" She stared down at Grace as she moved. Oh how she had loved her. She knew she would crack if she died, pieces of her old and worn exterior breaking and changing her. It had happened before with Asher. Flo glanced to the window. When would they get here? She began thinking of her mother. She hadn't seen grace's parents in years because she and Flo had stopped talking for the past two school years, speaking briefly over the summer. Florida's hair fell off of her shoulder and blocked her view of the window. "Hey" she breathed between presses "Can you push my hair back" She tied to throw it over her shoulder but it just came back

Sage nodded in response to her comment, thinking about how long it could take them to get here. He came back to the present when she spoke up again, and he grunted with a nod, shifting to reach over and pull the girls hair away from her face and tie it back into a pony tail with one of the hair ties he had on him. That was why he normally kept his in a bun...having it loose only made life difficult sometimes.

He moved back to bagging the girl, though when he noticed Florida getting tired again he moved to take her spot. He'd caught his breath by then, so he didn't mind at all. Besides, he was the doctor so when her parents got here he would probably actually be working on her.

Florida gave the briefest of smiles "Thanks" she managed to say. her arms were trembling and it was getting harder and harder to push on Grace's chest. When Sage moved to her spot she eagerly moved back to Grace's head, pumping air into her lungs. She glanced at the window. Just a few more minutes... They had to be near...

Sage offered the girl a small smile and a nod in response to her thanks. "It's amazing how hard CPR is to do," he murmured, shaking his head. It was always a bit odd to him....but it made a bit of sense, he supposed. He just hoped he could keep it up long enough. "When they get here, I can explain some things but they know and trust you so you'll have to help me," he murmured. "I don't know if they'll listen to me," he added. People didn't like werewolves, and as sucky as it was, he may need her help.

(Quick thought ...what if they get upset and that draws in the bounty hunter? And one of the parents winds up being able to help sage aince he tried to help their daught after he gets hurt?)

"Yes! Great!" Florida has been Grace's lungs for another few minutes when she heard heavy footstepd down the halls. "In here!" She called and she could tell the people were checking every room just because of ther echo. She whistled and the people finally found them. "Oh my baby!" Grace's mother cried out, kissing Grace's forehead then Florida's forehead, completely ignoring Sage. The father wiped away the soft tears that fell. "What happened to my daughter" He snapped and the Mother placed her trembling hand on the father

Sage had nodded in response to her comment. The two of them were silent until they heard Grace's parents come into the hospital, and he let them come in, breathing heavily by then. "The school was bombed a while ago. Your daughter was severely injured," he explained. "We brought her here, did emergency surgery, and hooked her up to some machines to keep her breathing and her heart going until she could heal," he added, taking a few breaths to gather some air into his aching lungs. "The hospital got hit somewhere though, and the power went out, so none of the machines are working," he added softly. "Once I stop CPR I'll have to pronounce her, but we wanted you to at least be able to say goodbye to her while she was still alive," he finished, watching her parents warily. There was no telling how they'd react ...her dad had already snapped at him, and now he was telling them their daughter was dead.

Florida looked down as she pumped air through Grace's lungs. Mrs. Fullerton blinked back tears as she studied Grace's pale face. Mr. Fullerton clencheed his fist. "Keep her alive for just a moment longer if you can..." Florida whispered to Sage. Mr. Fullerton grit her teeth. "What happened to her body then, boy? What messed her up so bad?"

Sage bit back a smartass response when the father asked what happened to her body, and nodded at Florida's comment before looking back over at the parents. "We were bombed," he said again. "Her heart stopped, I did emergency surgery in the field to get it going again, but her head injuries caused her to need a ventilator," he explained, trying to be patient. "When the electricity went out, she stopped getting oxygen and with no way to shock her and no oxygen for so long we won't be able to get her back now," he added softly.

Mr. Fullerton's jaw clenched and Florida swallowed hard. The mother attempted to calm her husband down but he just clenched his fist and glared at Sage. "Will she come back?" Mrs. Fullerton asked, her sadness washing over her and radiating from her in waves. Flo glanced up at Sage. She was waiting for the answed too though she knew he didn't have the ability to manually pump her heart for her much longer. Flo looked at the older man who looked like he was about to throw Sage on the ground and beat him up. She turned her eyes to Sage, begging him with her expression to be honest but vague

Sage was wary of the father, but he'd had plenty of experience with patients like this. "No," he murmured, meeting the girls mother's eyes and then glancing at the father and flo before looking back at the parents. "It's been too long. She has no brain function," he added. "I'm sorry." He wouldn't stop quite yet....he'd let them say goodbye...but he couldn't do this much longer. He still felt like complete shit. He also knew he wouldn't be able to defend himself very well, given the circumstances, but maybe the two women could help keep things under control. He wasn't sure what to hope for.
