Sage hadn't really wanted to get up, but by then Liz had dozed off again, and she was getting a bit heavy in his lap, so he figured he should go set her down. Though, when T flopped down onto the blankets too, he was more than happy to crawl over and lower himself onto the ground next to her. Once he was back down, he sort of huffed out a sort of content sigh, pressing his side against hers gently, and sort of just letting himself relax for a bit. It was nice, he had to admit, to feel safe enough to just rest his eyes and relax for a bit.

T watched him come over, looking utterly overjoyed as he did. She rested her hand on her stomach, clasping them and closing her eyes momentarily as he settled down and brushed against her side. She pressed her body a little closer into him, a little too scared to attempt anything more in that moment. She wanted to roll on her side, sling an arm over him, and cuddle shamelessly. That just wasn't an option, though.

Sage noticed the smile the girl got when he flopped back down next to her, and sort of cocked his head before lacing his fingers and placing them over his stomach. He stared at the ceiling, just....thinking. Though, when she moved closer, he became even more curious about what she thought of him. "t," he finally spoke up, almost shyly. "Who am I to you?" He sort of turned his head to look over at her, trying to read her face. She gave him mixed signals...and he knew they hadn't known eachother for very long, but....he already really, really liked the girl.

T opened her eyes as he said her name, looking over at him in interest. "Yeah?" She asked softly, tilting her head at the question. She looked mildly surprised, but otherwise calm. She thought for a moment and then shrugged. "I dunno. My partner in... survival. What do you want to be?" She asked softly.

Sage hummed softly in response to her comment, nodding and turning to look back at the ceiling. Well. That hadn't given him much to work with. And now he was doubting himself....had he read her wrong? Was he just that desperate for a decent relationship? "I don't know," he admitted with a sort of sigh, shaking his head slightly. "And I'm not sure I know what half my emotions even mean at this point either," he snorted.

T turned her head to watch him speak, shifting slightly to do so. Her heart was beating a little faster than normal, but his answer was just as lackluster as hers. She nodded slowly, bringing her gaze back up to the ceiling and trying not to let any sort of dissapointment show through. "Alright. What am I to you? What do you want me to be?" She asked softly, keeping her eyes firmly on the ceiling.

Sage sort of let out a slow breath in response to her comment when she spoke up again, looking over at her after a minute. She'd seemed disappointed so his answer, just like he was rather disappointed with hers. "I like you here," he said simply. "I want to stay together. Even if," he sort of hesitated then, almost shy. "Even if this apocalypse ends tomorrow....I still want to be able to be with you," he said softly. "If I had any balls I'd ask you out on a date, but...," He sort of trailed off then with a shrug, not really knowing where he was going with it. But what? He was scared of losing her? Of her not liking him back, or their relationship becoming like his old one? What if she just loved him like a younger brother? That would be award. The more he thought about it, the more his face heated up. After a moment he sort of retreated, shaking his head and moving to get up, mumbling "you know what, forget I asked anything," figuring this would make it all awkward. And he didn't want that. He'd take this over nothing at all. Edited at March 8, 2024 03:27 PM by NightClan

T lolled her head gently to the side as he spoke, watching him carefully following his words. Her heart felt vaguely like it was caught in her throat. She bit her lip to keep from saying anything for the moment, rolling on her side to look down at him. She shook her head as he started to move, shifting to follow him and set her palm against his chest. "Hold on." She said softly, looking up at him and swallowing quietly. She brought herself into a half-sotting position to mirror him, her fingers still splayed out gently against the center of his chest. She stayed still for a moment, her chest rising and falling rather quickly as she tried to figure out what to say. She leaned into him quietly, bringing her lips to his ear. "I don't want to forget." She murmured softly, pressing her lips gently to his neck afterward.

Sage stopped short when he felt her hand on his chest, and of he wasn't bright red before, he definitely was now. No doubt the girl could feel how heart his heart was beating, as her hand was pressed firmly against him. He sort of just stared at her hand in shock, honestly not wanting her to move it. Of course, when she spoke, he raised his eyes to look up at her, though by then she'd moved closer to whisper in his ear. "What...what does thatean," he asked quietly, inhaling sharply and closing his eyes when he felt her lips against his skin, taking a shaky breath. Was he scared this relationship would hurt him again? Absolutely....he was terrified. But....damn, it felt so good. Her touch was light, and gentle, and warm....and he didn't think he could ever get enough of it. "I come with a lot of baggage, T," he reminded her gently, not wanting her to think he'd just be some good boyfriend.

"I don't want to forget what you asked, or what you just said. It's the sweetest thing anyone has ever said to me." T quipped softly, leaning her forehead gently against the side of his neck. He didn't seem to shy away from her, but his body language, his breathing, even the rate of his heart was worrisome for her. What if he thought She was just like his ex? Demanding, domineering, forceful? She was acutely aware of the fact that he hadn't done a thing to reciprocate her affection as of yet, and it made her suddenly self conscious. "And? I'm strong. Let me help you with your baggage. Let me lighten your load." She murmured quietly, tentatively pulling her head away from his neck to look up at him, withdrawing her hand slightly and taking a slightly shallow breath as she looked up at him. She cleared her throat quietly and looked off in a panicky sort of way. "Uhm, I'm sorry if that was- overly forward. I- that shouldn't- I shouldn't have- you must be so uncomfortable-" She tried to stumble through something that made sense, but she had absolutely no idea what to say.
