He narrowed his eyes at her as she folded it and walked toward him. "It's not normal? And no you can keep it." He smiled a little. He'd always carried one, even before death. Though he used the ones while he was a blacksmith to keep his hands a bit cleaner 'cause at some point they got veeery black.

"Not nowadays, no." She chuckled, running her fingers over the material with a small smile. "Aw, thanks." Trix responded sarcastically, tucking it into her jacket pocket. "Down for a walk?"

"I feel so special now," he said mockingly with a little smile, his cheeks hurt a little. He looked off at the water and the trees. His face went a little dreamy. He looked back down at her and nodded. "A walk would be fine." He motioned for her to pick a direction.

She gave him a small smile, going to walk around the edge of the water. "Well, I know I'm entertaining you lots so far, but I have something even better. I uh... I got you a present." She added, faltering slightly and looking off at the edge of the lake.

He eased around the ducks eho were still gnawing at the grass for more and got to her side. He looked at her with curiosity, the blank expression he usually had was on his face, just a little more alive. "What kind of present?" He asked in an upbeat tone.

"Its not one you're going to like very much, but I... I thought it was important you have it. After you... did your heroic little angel thing for me and everything, yesterday." Trix added softly, gently pulling a sheathed weapon out of her pocket. It was curved, and smaller, like a dagger. She ran her fingers over the supple black leather sheath, that was sewn together with gold thread and had a latin phrase embroidered into it.

He tipped his head, confused. Til she brought it out. She was gifting him a death blade? He took it carefully out of her hands, pulling it out slightly. "But this is yours," he said quietly. He didn't want to steal it because thats what it felt like. He slipped it back in and ran his thumb over the writing that was dented into the leather around the blade.

"Well, its not mine. I... I had one made for you." She said, looking slightly queasy. "It took a lot of favors but I... you need one. Especially if you keep hanging around with me." She said, giving a halfhearted attempt at a joke. "Please take it. I want you to have it." She nodded, gently pointing to the writing. "That means 'For Justice, Always.' It's- its just a precaution." She added meekly, crossing her arms and looking at her feet again.

He looked back down at it from her eyes. Opening it all the way, he examined all of the engravings and ran his hand over them. He smiled a little at her jokery. Then the looked at the latin as she translated it. He looked at her, slightly awed. He smiled sweetly. He grabbed her hand specifically to squeeze it, she looked spooked, "thank you so muh. i don't know how I'll repay you," he said, both hands on it again to put the blade back in the sheath.

She looked up as he grabbed her hand, giving it a gentle squeeze back as a small smile lilted her lips. She flushed slightly, feeling surprisingly vulnerable. She looked down at her hand quietly as he pulled away. "Don't repay me. Just... don't die. Thats the only payment I need." She nodded quietly as they continued to walk, looking down at the ducks in silence.
