The girl stuck her tongue out at him. "But, you know, there are better ways to get it back," she mused, but she was laughing at herself before she realised he'd snatched the hat back. She'd tried to grab it back before rolling her eyes at him. "Fine, no touching the hat," she sighed before cocking her head at him. "Why do you wear that all the time, anyway?"

Tyler snickers. He listened to her question, then snorted. "For one, my hair is a mess. For two I just like wearing this hat. It's part of my 'backroad redneck don't come near me' look." He chuckled slightly. The man thought for a moment before saying, "I've been making up a new song while you have been healing. I think it's pretty good." He grinned, thinking about the lyrics Edited at April 6, 2023 01:15 PM by Wild Warmbloods

The girl sighed softly to the boy. "Oh, that whole don't come near me thing works a treat," She giggled lightly before humming softly. "And I don't care about your messy hair, I'm a state too," she mused lightly. She then looked at him curiously. "Oh? Sing to me, then," she told him with a bit of an amused laugh. "I can't imagine why you'd want to write a song while you're in the middle of an apocalypse.

Tyler rolled his eyes. "Hurumph." He muttered, then listened to her amused laugh. "To be fair, it isn't supposed to comfort me when I sing it. It has a very melodious tune... extremely unlike any song I've ever written." Tyler's eyes twinkled nevertheless... this was what he loved. Singing. Even if the person he was singing to would probably laugh till she died at him. So he started, singing only one verse. "I lived in a place called ofuskeee... and I had a little girl in hollow tree, I said little girl it's plain to see, there ain't nobody that can sing me... ain't nobody that's can sing like me." Tyler snickered at the last part. "Aren't I just the best singer?" He teased. He really did make the song sound good, though. "I'm sure you'd like the second verse a whole lot better." Tyler snorted, thinking. "Which is why I'll sing it really quick. She said it's hard for me to see, how one little boy got so ugly... yes my little girly that might be, but there ain't nobody that sing like me, ain't nobody that can't sing like me" Edited at April 6, 2023 01:48 PM by Wild Warmbloods

The girl smiled softly at the boy, sitting up a little bit as she waited for him to start singing. To be honest, she wasn't really expecting him to actually sing for her... she knew she could be a little bit intimidating, mainly because she could find a way to laugh at anything, but she could get through this without laughing, she was sure... this was something he loved, so she could at least make an effort to be nice. She cocked her head as he started to sing, before chuckling lightly at the last bit. "I take it I'm the little girl in the hollow tree?" She asked with an amused hum. But she raised an eyebrow at his next comment. "I wanna hear the second verse now!" She told him lightly.

"Hey, I sang the second verse." He snorted. "Also, no it's not fully you. I was part singing about my little sister, because I was sure you'd be embarrassed to be in one of the songs of the worst country singer ever." Tyler chuckled, staring at the fire. "Anyway, here's the second verse AGAIN since you didn't hear it the first time." He cleared his throat. "She said it's hard for to see... how one little boy got so ugly... yes my little girly that might be, but there ain't nobody that can sing like me, ain't nobody that sing like me..." Tyler moved on to the chorus. "Way over yonder in the minor key... way over yonder in the minor key... there ain't nobody that can sing like me. Ain't nobody that can sing like me." He stopped, thinking about how it sounded. For this being the first time he sang it... it sounded amazing. "It's called Way Over Yonder In The Minor Key." He informed her, leaning back against the hard bark

(Ah, sorry, I didn't see that you'd edited it aha) The girl rolled her eyes a little bit before shrugging again. "I wanted to hear it again," she mused softly. She then pouted at him. "You have a little sister?" She asked curiously. "And, yeah, I would have been a little bit embarrassed, but not because you're a bad singer," she then chuckled softly to the boy. "I actually think you have a very nice voice," she hummed gently. She listened to him sing again before grinning at him. "I like it!" She chirped happily.

Tyler smiled. "You know, having you say 'I like it' means I could probably be Maerica's next top model country singer." Jen teased, smiling. "But thank you, and yes, I have a little sister. She would have just turned 13..." he trailed off. (You should get stuck on the would have) (also its fine lol, singing it again doesn't matter haha)

The girl rolled her eyes a little bit at him. "Please, there won't be another one for years, so there's not a chance," she mused lightly. She cocked her head at his next comment, thinking through it again before realising what he'd said. "She was? So she's deceased, then?" She asked quietly. There was no point beating around the bush about this... loads of people she knew had died. In the last few months. She kept on looking for her family, but she knew they were dead, subconsciously.

Wow how did I spell America like that... yikes) - Tyler looked at her. "Yes. She died a couple months before the pandemic." He refrained to say how, his eyes filled with hurt. More hurt than there ever had been when his father whipped him. Tyler sighed and leaned back against the tree, hoping that was enough attention he gave to Regan... so he could get some sleep.
