Sage clapped him on the shoulder. "Good man," he laughed. He knew Luther was joking, and knew he could be decent at fighting. But hey, he could always improve, and he did want Luther to be able to defend himself against anyone, not just another knight. Then he got a mischievous smile on his face and looked over at the training guards. "What do you say to showing them up," he cackled, asking Luther if he wanted to do a mini training lesson with him now, under the noses of the guards. How mad would they get to see the two boys doing better than them while just having fun?

Luther let a grin paint his face after a little while... he was all up for showing the guards up. It'd be fun to see the anger on their faces, considering they couldn't exactly say anything. It'd be fun to have a little brawl with Sage too, and even though he trusted him, he wanted to see exactly how the people on the streets would fight. If the castle went under siege, then he wanted to be able to protect Anya, along with a couple of his servants. He wouldn't be able to do that if he had no clue what was coming. "Hell, I do." He giggled slightly before springing back up again, a fun daring in his eyes.

Sage gave him a grin and stood up, pulling a sword out of really nowhere to toss to Luther. Well, not really from nowhere, he knew where he'd hidden it, but Luther wouldn't know that. "You can make the first move, I wanna see how you personally fight," he chirped. He flicked it dagger into his hand and calmed it calmly. "And no going easy on me. Full force, man. Otherwise it's no good." He knew Luther wouldn't want to hurt him, but he'd be fine. Luther would be lucky if he got much of a hit in unless sage decided to stay and take the hit or catch it himself.

Luther was confused for one moment when he pulled a sword out of thin air, but he didn't care to question. He just gave a cocky grin and took a few steps back, out of the way from the bench and guards. He readied himself, a small smirk still floating on his cheeks as he changed his stance. He had a sword... and Sage had a knife. Surely this wouldn't be too difficult. This was a friendly little brawl, of course, but he was still giddy to see how it'd go... to really size him up, to put together how hard they'd have to fight to keep up with the village people. "Ready?" he hissed in a playful way, taking a step or two forward before lunging at the boy. He told him not to hold back, and he wasn't planning on doing that... if he wanted him to go full force, then that's exactly what he was going to do.

Sage grinned when Luther lunged at him and waited for a moment before stepping to the side and letting Luther barrel past him, poking him lightly with the dagger as he past him. Not enough to do much more than make him feel it...he didn't draw blood or scratch him at all. "Faster, man, ya gotta go faster," he cackled, teasing the big guy. "I'll start taking your hits and using the dagger when you can touch me," he chuckled. "Try not leading with your body and lead with the sword," he suggested. It was all fun and games, but he could always correct the guy while they screwed around ....there was really no reason not to.

Luther nodded slightly, rolling his eyes with a playful groan as he corrected him. He of course appreciated it... it was coming from, well, at the moment the enemy. Sage knew how things worked on the street, and how people fought and thought. If Luther could get even the tiniest bit of that in his own head, then that was good... it would make it a little bit easier to predict what his opponent would do. "Yes sir," he joked lightly, already seeming a little out of breath. Luther was fit... in a muscular, weighty kind of way. Not the more athletic way that would be useful. If he managed to grab Sage, he could probably just sit on him. He went in again, a bit slower, speeding up once he got closer, swinging his sword in the lead as Sage had instructed.

Sage grunted and shrugged. It was a decent speed, a decent hit. He had plenty of time to react, but with practice Luther would speed up even more. Sage decided to let Luther have his fun and took the blow, the blades of the two weapons making a clang that caused many of the training guards to turn and watch the two boys. Sage could care less...if he could impress them, even a bit, the more they'd be willing to follow a training plan he made. Which would be nice. He and Luther danced around a bit, as he felt the guy out and they exchanged a round of blows before they broke apart again. "Not bad not bad," he chuckled. Then he gave him a devilish grin. "Now we speed it up a bit." He lept at the guy, probably faster than what he'd been expecting, but that's how it would be in the streets, and with the rebellion hed have to jone his reaction times down to quick. Sage wasn't going super incredibly fast, no way Luther could work with that right away, but he was pushing the guys limits.

Luther let out a type of wheeze when Sage started to speed up, finding his big and slow movements weren't enough to keep up. He tried to speed up, to attack but he just ended up defending. All he was doing was defending his vital points and was eventually forced to stumble back a few steps back when Sage started getting the better of him. He took a moment to recuperate before lunging forwards, as fast as his body could move and swinging the sword with it... full force. Which, they would come to find, was a hell of a lot of force. Though he did get a little distracted when he noticed the training come to a halt, along with Anya coming along to watch for a distance. She'd probably heard all the noise quieten down and gotten curious... but Luther was trying his hardest not to let the crowd watching them get the better of him... which wasn't working too well.

Sage had wanted Luther to try and attack the way he did....full force and throwing himself into a fight with all of the muscle had had behind the stroke. If it hit sage, it would probably at least knock the wind out of him. But, it was too easy to avoid, and he wanted to show Luther that. So, when he finally gave up defending and just started to swing like the hacking and bashing type the knights we're doing, sage calmly stepped inside of his reach, where Luther had no way of defending himself. He patted his chest with a grin "that's exactly what I'm trying to teach everyone here. Thanks for being the example," he chuckled, before stepping back and putting the dagger away for the moment being. "You start going full force, you lose your defense. You were doing great, you were. You held your own." He cocked his head slightly, making sure it seemed like he was talking only to Luther though he was loud enough to inform the other men as well...he'd planned this all out ahead of time. "See what I'm saying?"

Luther groaned slightly, his face flushing up with a slight tinge of embarrassment. So, he was scared of crowds now too. Great, that'd be useful when he was king. He had expected Sage to be good enough that he'd struggle to keep up, but he hadn't expected him to win their fun little brawl. Well, he wasn't sure what he had expected, but it wasn't that. Sage was a lot smaller than Luther was, both in height and stature, so this should have been easy for him. It just meant Luther needed to stop underestimating people. He gave Sage a grin, and a slight nod to show he was getting it. "Yeah, I get it." He shrugged slightly before going to sit on the bench, waving his hand to instruct the guards to get going with their training again. "It's going to take some drilling, you know, to get us to forget about everything that's been drilled into us already." He shrugged lightly.
