Sage had moved to plop himself down by the front door, making sure the other man stayed far, far away from the house. He was still on high alert, nose twitching as he took in the man's scent. He was also smelling the air, making sure there weren't any other humans coming over towards them or the cabin. Jack was lucky there were no other scents, other than the normal ones, because if he smelled people heading their way he'd have killed him no questions asked.

However, as he poked at the fire, getting the boar meat settled over the smoke, he eventually huffed out a breath. Jack seemed about ready to burt with questions. "You get three questions," he eventually rumbled to him.

Jack's brain swirled. He didn't even know what to think anymore. At Sage's growled words he perked up. "Okay, not to sound rude, but what are you?" He asked, just about buzzing with questions as he didn't move, but shifted from foot to foot.

Quinn finished feeding Frynn, slightly amused as the girl settled down and fell asleep quickly. Caspian had woken up, but was staying quiet. She fed him as well, relaxing for once.

Sage snickered slightly when Jack seemed to perk up when he was allowed to talk. "Werewolf," he grunted in response. "Well ...half werewolf. That's why the kids are possible," he added shortly, tossing another couple sticks into the fire, glancing back towards the house, where Quinn had moved to pick up Caspian by then. The could hear the boys coos before they quieted down again, and sage then looked back at the fire again.

Jack's eyes widened as wide as saucers at the answer. "Whaaaaa- WEREWOLF? Wow." He wanted to say a butload more, but he fell silent, glancing between the house and Sage. "Werewolf. Half werewolf, anyway. I'm assuuuuming that means you don't eat humans." he joked half-heartedly, then cringed. Probably not the smartest thing to say. "Okay, so, 2 more questions... um... how come I've never seen you two- wait- three- no- four? How many of you are there? Don't answer that, I don't want it answered." He shook his head. He had heard a male babies cry, so at least four. "How come I've never seen you all around? Anywhere? You never come to town, and I've hunted here before, and you weren't here. This cabin might;ve been... it was a while ago."

Quinn finished feeding Caspian before putting the baby back and walking outside to see Jack and Sage talking. She smirked slightly- Jack seemed like the kind of person that could get anyone to talk. She then went to gather up a couple more batches of roots.

Sage rolled his eyes at jacks comment, moving away from the door when Quinn came back out, moving to the side where he was between Jack and Quinn subconsciously. He was used to that reaction, though the guy seemed more fascinated than anything, and he didn't seem like he even thought about hunting him. That didn't mean he trusted him though. He grunted in repsonse to his joke though, poking at the meat on the fire. "Chickens are easier to catch and they taste the same," he mused with a shrug before eyeing him when he asked a question then decided that wasn't how he wanted to spend his three questions. When he finally figured out what to ask, sage shrugged again in response. "We move a lot," he said bluntly. "People hunt me. And the kids since they're part werewolf too. We try to stay undercover. We've only been here this long because we figured Quinn giving birth randomly in the middle of the woods wasn't the best idea, and the area isn't populated."

Jack stared at Sage for a WHILE at the first sentence they spoke. "Chickens taste the sam- HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT!" He rubbed his face with his hands before resetting. "That's not an actual question. I have one question left." he said, tilting his head as Sage spoke again. "I can't believe people would hunt other PEOPLE. That's crazy." he huffed, looking irritated for their sake. Yeesh. Poor Quinn. He thought, sitting on his last question for a couple seconds, thinking about what to ask. He decided not to ask anything right now, instead sitting down on the ground and looking around.

Quinn returned, glancing at Sage and Jack as they spoke. After a while of taking care of stuff, she decided to sit down, near enough to both of them to talk. "So, Jack, there's a town near here?" She asked, knowing it couldn't be crazy close, as he wanted to stay the night,

Sage threw a rather amused glance at Jack when he freaked out a little bit. That was sort of the intention of the comment, but the guy was obviously terrified of him anyway, which was sort of amusing. "Better make it good," he half joked before shrugging in response to his comment about people being crazy. "People do a lot of bad things," he mused softly, getting lost in his head for a moment before glancing up at Quinn when she reappeared, a grin forming on his face in welcome before taking the roots and preparing them for the fire.

Jack looked to Quinn with a nod. "Yep! Small town, but a town nevertheless." He then glanced back at Sage with a slight scowl, just at the comment, not at the man. "A LOT of bad things." He huffed quietly, then perked up. "So, there's a bunch of GOOD people at the town, if you all every want to stop by." He added cheerfully.

Quinn listened for the babies, and since they didn't make a noise, which meant they were sleeping quietly, she relaxed slightly as she sat there. "How far away is it?" She inquired after a couple seconds, smiling. She was quite happy to have someone else to talk to- yes, she loved Sage, but she needed some diversity.

Sage had stopped talking once Quinn got there, figuring if the guy needed to talk he could talk to someone who was at least somewhat willing to talk back. He frowned when Quinn seemed like she was actually considering going to town, though, and just poked at the fire sullenly. They couldn't trust him, and she was acting like she wanted to go wandering off with him to who knows where. She knew the sort of things people had done to him, and why he wouldn't want to go to the town, if he even could without getting killed or sold off or...whatever other horrors awaited him there. So if she wanted to go, he couldn't really go with her. But he wasn't going to leave her alone, especially not with a stranger. And the babies were new...they wouldn't be able to hide werewolf signs, or even know about the signs. And what if someone followed them back? The stick in his hands snapped in half, pulling him out of his thoughts. he scowled at it and stood, stalking to the wood pile to rummage through it and find another stick thick enough to replace the one he'd snapped, mind still running a million miles a second.

(should we have sage slowly try to get to know Jack so it's more of a oof sort of thing when he gets jealous and such? Or should he go from hate to just really really jealous and hate? Either one would work lol)
