He put the reins down and strode around the grey, hands free. He waited for her cue before he lifted her up, going with her movements to make it smooth. His eyes narrowed quickly before her weight shifted, he slipped back around to the bay. Picking up the reins and swinging into the saddle. Making a face, something like disgust. He forgot entire that he was riding again.

Eris blew out a breath as he came over, shifting slightly as he moved to lift her and she felt his hands. She got up swiftly as she could, getting comfortable as he seated her. She cleared her throat and glanced over as he got on, turning her gelding to move toward the path. Her eyebrows narrowed as she noted his disgusted expression, raising an eyebrow. "I'm not that appalling." She said flatly, rolling her shoulders.

Kin glowered at her, despite the darkness he did look like he was smiling slyly. "For once, you're not why." He gently pulled the reins back and the horse acted accordingly, then he aimed them back toward the demon's trail, which hadn't moved a bit. He rolled his shoulders, his back already feeling the pressure, and his legs hadn't stopped. Steeling himself for another day. After an amount of time that was likely less than he hoped it was, he was curious. "So what all do you know about demons?"

"Good to know." Eris mocked, rolling her eyes and closing her legs (or rather, working leg) around the gelding, ushering him onward. She shifted gently in her seat, her brows drawing together at the pain in her leg. She had definitely tweaked it or something last night. She glanced at the guard for his question, thinking for a moment before she answered. Speaking slowly, contemplating her words so as not to give too much away. "Rather a lot. They typically can't find their way into this world unless summoned- or if they find some sort of little crack in the veil between worlds. They come from the seven pits of hell, the deepest and most terrifying being from the seventh pit." She stated, lifting a hand from her reins to undo her braid. "To spare you a bunch of shit, essentially, this one looks to be maybe a fifth or sixth pit- pretty rare. I've seen very few fifth ring demons, and one sixth ring- out of 70 years in this line of work. Probably summoned, since it's a deeper level demon- using black salt, candles, a couple of other black-market sourced things. They likely knew what they were doing if they managed to find it." She continued, blowing out a breath and shaking her hair out. It fell in long, slightly curled indigo waves a long ways down her back. "It might be venemous- some demons from the deeper levels are. Our best bet? Kill it. Silver is best, but iron works well. Other than it being terrifying, it's just like any other animal. Kill it, and no more." She shrugged.

The elf kept quietc listening intently. Lacking a place to write it down but he had a good enough idea with her explanations. It was beginning to sound even harder than he originally even thought. Even after watching it maul a town right before his eyes. At the mention of black markets, he had a quick epiphany. Since it's sounding reallly unlikely the bear popped up on its own.. he might know a place with some clues. "I might know a place we can go to get a clue as to who summoned it, not sure if it'll be too sure but its not very far away or off course." He said plainly, tipping his eyebrows sligutly at the mention of venom. Just a little concerning. "I gotta ask...what the hell is seventh level?" He questioned, a high-strung tone in his voice. The more she said, the less he liked their plan. But he wouldn't say anything. His momma didn't raise a quitter. She raised an idiot.

Hehehehe Mama didnt raise no quitter But she did raise an idiot)) Eris looked at her company as he spoke, tilting her head just slightly. "Sounds good. I'm assuming it'll have a solid connection to the black market trade, then." She said simply, glancing off at the question. "Those are monsters that come from the Abyss of hell. They never see the light. They're fucking huge, beasts of legend. Similiar to tales of a kraken, though most walk on land. The smartest, essentially sentient. Maybe smarter than us." She started, slowly cracking her neck side to side. "You saw what that demon did to your city. Imagine the capital, the most important, largest place in this nation- obliterated. Razed. Every person that you thought was an idol, or powerful? 100 of them gone in a flash. And not a soul left to tell the tale." She finished simply, lifting both hands to start rebraiding her hair.

his parents had priorities) "I have some 'friends' in the business," Kin hesitated on the word, they probably weren't going to be terribly excited. But it they were that would be nice. His back tensed up as she started describing the seventh level. "I'm guessing we have a fifth level on our hands then." He stated, semi-casually. Shifting his shoulders. She described it like she'd seen what they can do. But in his lifetime he'd never heard of one, news like that would likely travel. His eyes narrowed. "I'm starting to think you were lying about not quite being an expert." He commented, pushing the ebony hair off his forehead.

Eris dipped her head in acknowledgement, blowing out a small sigh as she continued braiding... and braiding... and braiding... while he spoke. "It's likely. Depending on the damage it has yet to cause, of course." She shrugged, her fingers weaving quickly as she continued on. It's a lot of fucking hair, y'know. She raised her eyebrows at him, turning to give him an up down. "I thought we established already that I can't lie?" She mocked, shifting in her seat and gritting her teeth together at the shooting pain. "There are those in Greenbriar that have done this centuries- some, a thousand years. Their whole lives. A measly few decades isn't enough to even scratch the surface of hell and it's creatures. So no, I am not quite an expert. I just like to read." She shrugged.

Kin's eyes followed her working hands for a moment while she spoke, she had hair enough for an elf. Not him though. His was curly and dark, messy as elven locks can get. He hadn't let it grow long in years. He turned back to the trail. The prints were dry, cracking. It hadn't rained in a bit. "Were you being humble?" He mocked right back, the corner of his mouth turned up slightly. They returned to an even line when she continued speaking as he started looking around. "Isn't that such a nice thought." He commented, hell and all in it wasnt exactly the normal afternoon topic. The sun had shifted to atop them, but slightly to the side, the demon wasn't really taking a straight path.
