Saphire watched the birds come alive then watched Rascal hunt a squirrel. He caught it then ate it. He came over, wanting to cuddle, but Saphire pushed him away, grabbing a leaf and rubbing his mouth clean as best she could. She walked him over to the stream and washed him the rest of the way Edited at June 2, 2024 02:39 AM by Dandelion Farms

Cade woke up, noticing Saphires absence. He began to panic, there was no way he was going to find her, what if the other demons had somehow gotten to her. He glanced down, seeing both of her shoes. Maybe she had fallen and something had taken her in the night? He wanted to find her but if he fell it would be deadly.

Rascal ran over to her shoes grabbing one and taking off with it. "Hey!" She cried out, running after him. "Give me that back!" She demadpnded with a laugh. She gave her wings a few flaps but they didn't work right. She folded them on her back then ran full speed after the swerving wolf. She finally tackled him and grabbed the shoe, playing tug of war all the way back to the tree where she finally got him to let go.

Cade breathed out a sigh of relief when he saw Saphire and Rascal again. He debated acting like he was still asleep but it was getting hot, especially in the tree. He didn't want to ask Saphire for help but knew that he couldn't get down by himself.

Saphire heard a sigh and looked up to see Cade watching her. "Morning sunshine" she teased, beating her wings a few times and lifting a few feet from the ground before falling again. She landed on her feet then looked up at Cade. "They're getting better" she said, gently touching the tips of the dark feathers, the deep blue shimmering as it moved.

"Nice! They'll hopefully be healed in a couple days." Cade looked down at her sheepishly. "Can you, um help me get down?"

Saphire grinned "nah I think I'll just leave you up there" she said, but she started climbing up any way. "I may not be able to fly but I can still glide. Let me show you something" she got to his branch and held out her arms. "Do you want to glide down or be a baby and make me carry you back down?" She asked with a tilt of her head, her red hair falling over her shoulder

"We can glide." Cade said, if he wanted to get closer to Saphire he was going to have to trust her.

Saphire gave a smile "okay then. Hold on tight!" After she got him situated so that she could still move, she spread out her wings then launched herself from the tree. Her wings flapped a few times to dodge some branches, but once they made it out of the tree, she glided around a few times until she touched the ground. She steadied herself then let go of Cade. "I love being able to fly" she said happily.

Cade blushed a bit as he held on to Saphire. He enjoyed gliding around, it was fun and he could tell how much Saphire loved it. "I bet, that was so cool."
