He opened his mouth to respond and then closed it again, he waved his pointer finger in the air up and down. "I actually didn't think that far ahead." He grinned sheepishly and sat down next to her again, this time leaning his back against the railing with one foot on the step one up from him and the other foot one down from where he was sitting. He placed the helmet on the step in between his legs and shrugged. "I'll think of something eventually. But for now," he pointed to the ice cream. "We'd better eat that before it melts," he chuckled
Maxine chuckled and nodded "Alright I owe you one then." She smiled before nodding and offering him a spoon opening the ice cream and digging in "God that tastes so good..." She chuckled happily.
He grinned and scooped up a spoonful of the ice cream and tasted it. "No kidding...." He grabbed another bite happily. He had never had ice cream before - hell didn't really have freezers down there for goodies, and he had definitely not eaten anything this good on the streets when he wasnt in hell.
Max chuckled happily "I haven't had ice cream in a while..." She chuckled happily "I'm glad we're getting to eat it together." She said happily thinking for a moment before she scooped some onto her finger and offered it to him with a smirk when he took it "It's delicious." She said happily. Once they'd eaten their fill of ice cream she looked at him "I think we should try to sleep for a bit..." She admitted gently.
He nodded. "That's a good idea." He stood up and offered her his hand and pulled her up. "I was also thinking that if we're gonna be out like street kids we have to look the part. We're going shopping after we leave tomorrow."
Maxine gave a nod "Sure there's a cool thrift store not far away." She said happily "We could get some clothes from there?" She asked standing up her hand happily clasped in his as they went inside.
He nodded happily. "That works perfectly." He was pleasantly surprised when she kept holding his hand just like any couple would. They got to the bedroom and he let go of her hand so they could crawl into bed.
"That's great." She chirped happily. She only let his hand go when they were upstairs, she flopped down in bed and beckoned for him to follow eager to cuddle up with him. When he did lay down she burrowed into him happily her face buried in his chest "I love you so much..." She said gently giving a sleepy sigh.
Sage smiled and wrapped his arms around her, his heart leaping at those words yet again. It was the second time he had ever heard that said sincerely, and both times it had come from Maxine. He ran his fingers through her hair gently and closed his eyes with a happy smile before falling asleep.
Maxine only smiled before she too fell asleep. The next morning the two of them were up and out the door pretty quickly there was plenty of money on her card and she even packed a wallet with the only cash she had on hand in it. As they drove she gave Sage directions to the thrift store "Here we are." She chirped as they parked quickly setting up her bike and duffle bag with a chain lock and a couple of bells it was a clever idea... If anyone wanted to mess with their stuff they couldn't do it without making a whole lot of noise... Noise that would surely attract attention. When they went inside she looked at him "I'll go with you, I like my clothes baggier anyways." She smiled she usually bought her clothes a size or two bigger then what she needed... She hated form fitting things... Much too clingy for her.
