Sam raised his eyebrows silently at Ellies remark about being late on purpose, but didnt say anything. He Fetched Nero, grabbed a lunginf cavesson, and headed to the outdoor arena. Once he had clupped on the cavesson and lunge rope, he started schooling his horse first at a walk, then trot, then canter. Nero behaved well, apart from a couple shys. Then Sam took him back after an hour or so, set him out in the pasture, and went to have his lunch.

Ellie puffed out and went to catch her horses in so that she could brush them down... She decided to do nothing with the two horses today, just get them clean and let them back out in the pastures. Have some time for herself and relax... Thats all she needed. And she was about to leave when her phone buzzed. Guess whose coming back tomorrow? The text read, and Ellie instantly looked more exited. It was from one of the stable hands, Aaron, who had gone for a few months because of school, but they had always gotten along quite well. They just had the same interests. No way, really? It's been ages! Ellie replied swiftly, but her excitement soon left when she realized she would have to go sort out one of the spare living quarters.

Sam got back from his lengthy lunch, and walked into the yard. "whats so exciting?" he said curiously, seeing the look on Ellie's face. he topped up the water buckets in nero's field with the hosepipe, and gave the horse a sugarlum out of his seemingly endless back treat-pocket.

"One of the stable hands are coming back soon," She grinned widely, genuinely looking a little more upbeat. "Less work for us, at least," She added with a spft chuckle. "But he's great, you might like him." She shrugged thoughtfully. Aaron was the one who talked her into buying Frost, so she'd have to get back at him some how.

"oh nice, sounds like a really nice guy!" Sam said, a little surprised at the overjoyed expession on his friend's face. Sam stroked Neo quietly, and sat in his sunny spot on the broad wooden fence that bordered his horses paddock. he sat there a while longe, swinging his legs and reading Black Beauty, his favourite book.

"He is," She agreed swiftly with a nod. "But, he is the one who told me to go get Frost, so I need to get back at him for that," She rolled her eyes, her voice dripping with sarcasm. She seemed a little more awake now, which was probably a good thing, because when she was tired, she could change her mood like the wind.

"i think." said Sam "that you just nee to bond a little more with that mare. stop thiking of her as a buren that needs to be trained, an more like a friend, like you do Astra." He said, putting his book down on the Grass below the fence he was sitting on.

Ellie rolled her eyes slightly and shook her head, "You don't think I'm trying...? I never clicked with her the way I clicked with Astra... It's hard." She said with a small puff. While she really was trying to work with Frost the way she did with her gelding, it was like she had this long standing grudge against the mare for no apparent reason, and ot was strange to explain.

"OK,OK i get it. there was this one OTTB mare at the yard back in England that was assigned to me to ride before i got Nero. total nightmare, and we also didnt click." Sam cntinued "but with time, we began to understand eachother, we formed a bond over our work, and eventually we just clicked. maybe you two just need time." he said. Then he picked up his book and set it in the tackroom. he whizzed upstairs an changed into more comfy clothes, then he headed back down to the yard. "im going for a walk." he said to Ellie, slipping his headphones on and starting to walk down a long twisty path leading into the forest.

(Ooh, I love your new set! :D) Ellie had only just thought she was getting along with her troublesome little mare. She shook her head at Sams words, in an attempt to ignore him. This is why she didn't normally like other riders. They had different opinions on everything. She watched him walk off bitterly for a moment then started to make her way towards the barn to chuck some hay in the fields to keep the horses going. After she onced over the school horses, she let herself relax for a small while, going back to her accommodation and flopping back on the bed, but not before getting changed and doing her hair up again, having only just noticing how scruffy she looked. The auburn haired she just sat there for a while, her mind completely blank and white. Once Ellie had decided she a little bored, she got up and went to sit on a flat topped rock, not fat from the little cabin she stayed in, just resting her head back on a tree.
