Quinn only got more on edge when Sage jumped. She knew he was only reacting to her twitches, but still. Her emerald eyes scanned the forestc cautiously, half expecting her mother to jump out at any moment, or a hunter. She wished it was more like the night weeks ago, that blissful day where they swam, romped in the woods, and rested peacefully, feeling safe. One thing that made her extremely on edge was the fact she guessed she was pregnant. Being shot with an arrow, caring for another when they were hurt, always being stressed out and on edge, and always being on the run could not be good for.. anything. Still, she didn't want to tell Sage yet, just in case she was just feeling sick because hr wound was slightly infected or something like that. "I'm sure we're going to find a great place up in the mountains with a crystal clear lake and swans flying everywhere." Quinn joked with a half-grin, trying to ease the tension- not between them, but just in general.

Sage glanced over at her when she spoke up, forcing a smile onto his face. "I doubt I'll ever be that lucky," he grumbled, grunting as he had to take a large step over....some kind of tree root. "Though maybe your luck will offset it so it's at least not terrible all the time," he mused, squinting up at the sun, which had now risen quite a bit. "We can just keep heading north....maybe they'll all give up at the mountains and we can make a nice home for ourselves in a valley there somewhere," he mused softly. He doubted he'd ever manage that.....things never seemed to work out right for him. But then again....hed found Quinn, and that was something.

Quinn could tell everything was pretty gloomy, but she refused to get down... she couldn't. If she really was pregnant, they needed something, somewhere to live where no one could ever find them. If not? Her baby could die. "Luck has nothing to do with it. Put in the hard work, you reap the benefits." She stated, her voice hinted that it was the end of the matter. Quinn started turning back, already having decided they should leave today. She was feeling better than she usually was, so it would be best to put on as many miles as possible.

Sage sort of grunted in response to her comment about luck. He would have argued.....he'd worked hard his entire life and it had only gotten him worse off at times. But she seemed rather grumpy and her tone had stopped the conversation, so he let it go. He was still rather worried about her, especially since he had the suspicion that she smelled pregnant. He didn't want to bring it up though....if she ran off on him now, it wouldn't end well for either of them he didn't think. He scrambled after her when she wandered off again, thoughts now scattered.

Quinn went back to the campsite, where Sahara came up and nuzzled her arm. Quinn tilted her head slightly and snorted. "Sh." She mumbled, turning to Sage. "It will probably benefit us if we get a move on. Sound good to you?" She inquired, grabbing different things and putting them back in bags. She wasn't hungry at all right now, but if Sage was they had some leftover meat. Quinn knew that her words were not taken as truth by Sage, and she also didn't believe them herself. She assumed they had been treated much the same way, just under different circumstances.

Sage followed her back to the campsite, grunting his agreement with her comment about moving on. "As long as you ride and not walk," he mused after a moment. "I don't need you hurting yourself by accident." She'd been riding for the most part anyway, but he was admittedly rather protective of her, and he did worry. Besides, the horses were strong. They could handle it. "I can hunt along the way if need be," he added with a shrug, reaching to haul some of their bags out of the cave. It was still a rather tight fit to get him through the crack in the rocks, so it was slow going but eventually they did get everything packed up and out of the cave they'd been in.

Quinn smiled a little and shook her head at Sage's concern, rolling her eyes slightly. "Hurting myself by accident? I guess tripping over a rock is probably rather common in the forest." She teased, but she was touched by the fact he cared. Well, of course he did, but still. "Sounds good." She responded to his last comment, helping him grab stuff out of the small cave- it was much easier for her with her slim frame and shorter build. After everything was packed up Quinn hopped on Sahara, patting the mare's neck. After Sage was ready she started heading out, north, hopefully towards a safe-ish place.

Sage snorted in response to her comment, though mostly in amusement. "Exactly. So hop up," he noted with a sort of chuckle. He made sure she was settled before packing the rest of the things on chaos, tying the stallion to Sahara and then scuttling off. The horses followed a path, and he sort of stayed near them but branched out a bit to hunt. He crawled around, silent like an actual wolf, until he caught a few rabbits and trotted back down the trail and rejoining Quinn.

Quinn laughed a little at his words, letting Sahara pcik her way over the ground. They were moving at a good pace, but she still hated sitting up here whilst Sage was scouring the ground. Even though she could ride horseback for days, and she had, she still hated not moving for so long. After a while she laid back on Sahara's rump, staring at the sky with a sigh. Hearing a slight shuffle as Sage came back she bolted upright, startled, but after realizing it was Sage she relaxed. "Good hunting?" Quinn half commented half asked, wishing to high heaven she could be walking right now- it wasn't like she'd die from walking.

Sage nodded happily in response to her comment and gave her a grin around the rabbits he was holding with his mouth. He was still trotting around on the ground, since that was more comfortable than just walking on two legs for long distances, and they'd been in a cramped cave for a while, so it was nice to just lope along. Ever since meeting Quinn, he'd become more confident in his more wolf like behaviors...they seemed less odd now. More natural. It was nice.
