Quinn sat by the fire and watched the roots cook until she heard Sage come out, snorting slightly at his tired, rumpled appearance. "You know I could have used a little hand out here. No wait, a big hand... no wait, not a hand, a shoulder. Oh yeah, that's it." She teased, her green eyes twinkling as she flipped the roots and waited again.

Sage grinned over at her sleepily and plopped down next to her with a yawn...a big yawn, that made his fangs flash in the sunlight and ears fold back slightly. Then he hummed lightly in response to her comment. "Well, I'm up now," he chirped. "Mostly." He grinned over at her. "Besides, I don't want to annoy you so much to just walk away and never come back," he joked. It was a real fear though, too...he was constantly worried about doing or saying something to make her leave him.

Quinn chuckled at his expression, taking the roots off and handing one to him. She probably couldn't hunt very well at the moment, and she didn't want to give him a heart attack by trying, so Quinn decided to let Sage get whatever meat he wanted. "You could never annoy me that much. Believe me, you've tried, and I'm still here," she grinned, taking a bite of the sweet, filling, warm food and looking at the rustling green leaves on the tall, regal trees.

Sage chuckled slightly and took the root with a grin. He rolled his eyes at her comment, but settled in next to her happily as they munched on the roots. They were fresh...and she had plenty....so her sort of glanced in her direction as he reached for more, sort of just making sure it was alright for him to take more.

Quinn ate her root contentedly, not really wanting much food since her shoulder still ached. For some reason being shot with an arrow decreased your appetite. Quinn's gaze trailed back to Sage with a slight snort as she pushed the roots towards him. "Take as much as you want, and don't ask permission... even with your eyes. You are not at the castle anymore." She teased, glancing over at Sahara to make sure the mare was still okay while grazing.

Sage grinned rather sheepishly in response to her, chuckling at her comment slightly but reaching for more roots to munch on happily. He went through quite a few of them before deciding he should probably save some, just in case. They were still moving around, after all.

(I am so, so, so sorry about the inconsistency in answering this forum. I have been crazy busy and have had a bunch of stuff happen, including my 1 year old horse choking twice and having to drive to TN to get a puppy. Do you want to continue this forum? I understand if you don't)

Quin sat there for a couple more moments before standing. "I'm going to go for a walk... care to join me?" She asked, really just wanting to move and not feel completely useless. She was slightly on edge now, since Sage had been shot and she had been stabbed with an arrow... the odds weren't very good. Quinn really hoped the wretched king or her cruel mother hadn't figured out a way to find them. They needed to move more... but she also wanted to find the perfect place to stay. Forever.

(wow, you have been busy haha. It's ok, me too...my whole school just flooded lol, plus Halloween and all. No worries!)

Sage glanced over at her and nodded. "Sure," he mused, standing up and brushing his hands off on his pants. He knew she liked to move around and seem like she was doing something, but she was still hurt after all, and he wanted to keep an eye on her. Also, he just liked to spend time with her. "Where to," he asked, tilting his head curiously.

Quinn was feeling discomfort in her shoulder and her stomach, and she just wanted to move. Walking always helped, in her books. "Well, I hadn't quite thought about that. Let's go and walk along the edge of the river.. I think up far enough there's a small waterfall." She answered slowly, pulling from memory what she thought was true. Quinn started walking towards the gurgling stream and angled up it, trying to just relax... but every noise made her jump and every branch crack made her flinch. "Ever since everything that has happened these woods just don't feel safe. I definitely don't want to stay at this exact place for much longer- we need to keep moving." She said quietly, her brain running on full power.

Sage sort of just grunted in agreement, then wandered along next to her. He jumped each time she did, half expecting her to fall over. He knew she was strong, but he was worried about her....that's as normal right? "Yeah," he mused with a sigh. "I don't want to stay too long either....we have to find somewhere safe."
