Quinn snorted with a slight chuckle on the side, closing her eyes. "I can try that..." She mumbled, already drifting off into sleep. With her stupid wound it always felt easier to sleep, which was kind of nice... but also burdening. Quinn didn't want to fall asleep when she ... didn't want to fall asleep.

Sage hummed lightly sleepily since he was already mostly asleep. He wasn't really paying much attention anymore....he was tired. He'd been up making sure she was alright the past few days, and he was glad to finally have found a nice, safe place to rest. He'd been constantly worried before.

Quinn did fall into a steady sleep, whether she liked it or not. Her shoulder ache and the pain all drifted away into darkness, and it was peaceful. It was always nice to sleep... to get away from the pain, and the worry. Whenever Quinn woke up all the pain and worry would flood back, and sometimes she wished she could just go back to sleep... but no. Her body was making more decisions now that her brain did not like. -Hurumph- Quinn thought absentmindely

Sage was glad to curl up next to Quinn and relax for a while before he fell asleep. He sort of just watched her sleep for a while ...she was pretty and he was just so lucky to have her here with him. Sure, circumstances could be better, but they could also be a lot worse. In fact...it would be a full moon in two days, so maybe they should just camp here for a bit. They were well ahead of anyone chasing them, and they were well hidden and away from anyone who might hear him. He'd mention it to her tomorrow. But for now, he was more than happy to just curl up into her and fall asleep.

Quinn started to have flashbacks in her restful sleep. Her mother looking down on her. Her mother whipping her. Getting to Sage's castle. Seeing him for the first time. Being forced to marry him. Sage getting attacked. All the way up to the day that arrow went through her shoulder. Quinn shivered slightly and awoke with a jolt as a spray of water landed on her, blinking in the early morning sunlight that streamed through the mist. Quinn closed her eyes again, curling up in a tighter ball with a huff but not wanting to go back to sleep. Sleep now haunted her... it may be peaceful for an hour, but then it was just full of bad memories.

Sage stayed asleep for quite a while, until he got splashed with water. And then Quinn smelled like she'd been scared, which made his eyes open worriedly. She seemed alright, so he stretched and yawned before looking over at her as he rolled onto his back. "I think it would be a good idea to camp out here until the full moon passes. Like three days or so," he commented after a moment.

Quinn laid still until Sage spoke. She had guessed he awoke with the splash, but wasn't sure till he made noise. "Sounds good." She answered drowsily, but that did spark in her mind. Full moon. That had gotta suck for poor Sage. Quinn sat still for a moment more before pushing herself up with a huff, running a hand through her hair and fully waking up. After her brain had started running again she hopped up and darted out of the cave, going over to the water and splashing her face before checking on Sahara.

Sage grunted in agreement when she agreed, and then groaned when she immediately hopped up to go do .... whatever she was doing now. His half asleep brain just didn't work for a bit after he first woke up. But hers did. That was alright....he could lay there for a minute. And then make sure she wasn't over doing it.

Quinn patted the mare and went into the brush, picking a couple roots that she could find. Her shoulder throbbed, but it wasn't too terrible... she had dealt with worse. After Quinn had gotten the roots and collected a pile of dry wood to build a fire, then went to work on that, lighting one rather easily. Once the fire was crackling Quinn started cooking the roots, knowing they tasted better warm.

Sage continued to just lay around for a while, especially once he heard Quinn wander off into thr brush. She'd be gone for quite a while, if he knew her. Once he heard her come back, though, he was more awake so he forced himself back out of the smaller opening to get out of the cave and joined her over by the fire, chirping a good morning to her and the horses.
