Once they reached the bar Matt sat down, his gaze set on the people walking around. Half of them he had never seen before, they were either to do with other modelling agencies or just random scouts being brought with people lik Diana. He ordered whatever drink he could think of, waited for Trixie to do the same and turned himself to hear, letting his eyes settle on her. He opened his mouth to say something, when a couple people walked over, one of them being Ava. She smiled and sat herself down very much without invitation, leaning on the bar, her gaze just as settled on Matt as it had been for. awhile.

Trixie ordered and then looked around in faint interest, looking back at him as he opened his mouth to speak- and was cut off by the arrival of two people. She tilted her head at Ava, eyes immiediately narrowed. She grabbed her drink and took a sip, a sudden possessive urge taking her over as she watched Ava stare at Matt. She slid lightly from her chair and then sat in Matt's lap instead, settling her drink on the counter and pressing a gentle kiss to his lips without saying a word.

Matt moved his hands out the way to let Trixie sit herself onto his lap, then rested them on her thighs, fighting the smile at her clear overprotectiveness. "You know you'll have to put up with her stood right next to you on stage at the end of the event right?" he said quietly, the amused tone in his voice quite clear. He took a hand away to take a quick drink, then set the glass back down, looking over Trixies shoulder. Ava was eyeing the two up, and much to Matt and probably Trixies dread, opened her mouth to speak. "Has Diana spoken to you yet?" she asked, her eyes almost wide being. It was clear she had something to say that neither of them would want to hear.

"I've been trying not to think about that." Trixie muttered back sarcastically, crossing her legs and looking down at his hands with a faint smile. She gently rested one hand on his, the other fiddling with the slit in her dress. She raised her eyebrows as Ava spoke, letting out a somewhat deflated sigh. "No." She said flatly, a slight feeling of panic building in her.

Ava leant back in her chair with her gaze set on Trixies, leaving Matt simply just frowning. "She thinks the magazines have seen too much of one pair, meaning she's switching them up for whenever we have to go on stage. And possibly the last hour or so of the night. Which could mean you're with Bolton and i'm.." she let her voice trail off and her gaze land on Matt, who had settled for just not listening, staring at the drinks next to them. He looked up after a couple seconds, only just catching onto the end of her sentence. "Meaning he's with me. Not that there's anything to worry about, Diana hasn't confirmed it yet" she added after catching Matts gaze.

Trixie tensed at her statement, about ready to go home right then. "Okay. Thanks for the information." She said flatly, giving Matt a somewhat distressed look. There was nothing She hated more than Ava and Matt being forced into close quarters. "Mhm." She said, pressing a kiss to Matt's lips rather than try to engaged in conversation with Ava.

"Your welcome" Ava said with a clearly sarcastic smile, then turning away to speak to someone else. Matt shifted, gently sliding Trixie off his lip after the kiss so he could stand up. "This is stupid" he mumbled, promptly finishing the rest of his drink before scanning his eyes around the room. "Do you think i should bother asking Diana about it?" he asked, leaning gently against the bar. Just as he opened his mouth to speak again, the music died down and instead a loud deep voice came over the microphone, insinuating the awards were about to start. It was weirdly early, but at least they could go home just as quick- hopefully. Matt listened to the host talk on stage, staring back over at Trixie. "Guess we have to sit down" he spoke, his expression flat as he made his way over to the designated table, settling himself away from Ava. - i feel like again to avoid repeating ourselves we should find something to spice it up a little? maybe some sorta serious drama near the end of the event? someone could have a gun/knife, the place could go up in flames or anything like that?? i don't mind :)) Edited at December 6, 2023 04:19 PM by Wayside Wilds

Trixie got off his lap as he slid her away, standing at his side with a slightly uncomfortable expression on her face. "Tell me about it." She muttered, closing her eyes and giving a small sigh before she looked at him. "We may as well, I m-" She paused as the music died down, turning to face the stage and watch the man who spoke. She frowned, following him without a word and settling at his side.

Most of the speech wasn't much of a problem consideringhe didn't bother to listen, though once they were called he regained composure, focusing on the order of the names. "come on" he mumbled as the two were called up along with the others, making his way to the stage. Edited at December 6, 2023 08:58 PM by Wayside Wilds

Trixie listened half heartedly to the speech, zoning out every so often until she heard her name called and gave a slight jump. She looked at Matt and collected herself, following him quietly onto the stage.
