Andi snorted with a small shake of her head at Tylers first comment "Only on rare occassion you do" She added quietly before he spoke again. Her face only seemed to be even more puzzled as he spoke while also blinking very slowly just trying to process what he said. Andis face changed back to normal when Tyler spoke again basically dumbing it down for her "Ohhh so their like the titans of their species basically" She said still sounding a little confused but for the most part she understood what he was saying. Andi looked at Tyler when he responsed to her question, she smiled slightly "That'd be great and yeah it would be useful in more ways than one" She beamed happily just excited to get to know more about animals since she loved them very much but also that it was Tyler that was goiong to teach her so that made it even better

"Rare occasions." Tyler repeated with a slight chuckle, getting distracted for a moment as he saw a bat. Too dark to decipher what kind, but he guessed little brown. Tyler glanced at Andi, who just looked more puzzled... but he looked a little relieved when his other explanation worked. Kind of. "Yes. Titans." He agreed, deciding to leave that topic at that. No one really needd to know about Japanese Spider Crabs anyway. When her face kind of lit up Tyler was a little surprised, but thankful he could do something that was actually helpful. Not insulting or joking or teasing. "Well maybe I'll try to start after your dad leaves, if we live through that.." Tyler trailed off as he just about froze. "Great-horned owl!" He whispered, looking pleased. It was a giant bird swooping down into the field, looking to grab maybe some mice. "They are one of the bigger owl species, common around here. Two little feathers that stick up like horns from the side of their head get them their name. Like all owls they have silent wings with special feather aligning to muffle the sound of the wind whooshing over their wings. The mouse won't even know what's coming until it feels talons around it's midsection. Also like all owls, Great-Horned Owls are nocturnal." Tyler started quietly firing off facts, watching as the owl lifted off with something small in it's claws and disappeared into the forest

Andi nodded her head slightly taking note about the giant crabs. She probably would never hear or see about one of them again but it was still good to at least know they exsisted. "I'm sure we'll get through that just fine.." She said quietly as Tyler trailed off, she was pretty optomistic about the whole situation with her dad but that was mostly just so she didn't shut down and stress herself over about all the what-ifs, like she usually did. Andi snapped her attention out to the field as Tyler mentioned a owl, she saw it swoop down and take off again with something in it's talons, her eyes filled with amusement and fascination. She listened to the facts Tyler fired out and with each nod she did she was taking in all the information. "Nocturnal means they only are active at night time right?" She asked just wanting to make sure she was right, Andi had only heard that word a few times and even if she was 90% sure that's what it meant she just wanted to double check.

-If I wasn't so stubborn and not patient I would love to be a teacher- Tyler thought with a pleased look as Andi actually seemed to take in the information. He loved telling people facts... and that's why he was a part time flight teacher. Because he could yell at them for not paying attention and no one would get mad at him. "Yes." Tyler confirmed. "Funny thing, if you look up that word in the dictionary... you know how under every word you look up there is an example sentece? Well the example sentence for the word *nocturnal* is ^Most owls are nocturnal^" Tyler commented with a slight smile, glancing at Andi.

i definitely didn't just go and fact check that haha...) ~ Andi smiled slightly as soon as Tyler confirmed what she was thinking. It was great to have someone that would teach her without getting a little upset at her questions.. Unlike her father who would probably just insult her for asking something like that since it would be obvious. Andi scrunched up her nose and furrowed her brows slightly just thinking about how that interaction would go before shaking the thought away and focusing on Tyler as he spoke again. "Wait really?" She asked while pulling out her phone and starting to search up the definition for nocturnal. Yes she did believe Tyler but she still wanted to just double check and see if it was real and somewhat surprisingly he was right "That's really cool how you can remember things like that. I wish I could know as much as you" Andi commented while putting her phone back into her pocket, it was true she really did wish she had the knowledge that Tyler did but at least now she could somewhat start knowing as much as him

XDD I'm not kidding, and I know all this from memory... I'm working on a true story here, my father kinda hates people so I know all this) Also, a tiny part of Tyler's mind is dancing in joy because he knows more than Andi LOL)) - Tyler's eyelids drooped slightly, but only because he let them. He could fall asleep any time or stay up all night, it didn't really matter. Tyler just knew Andi would want to be sleeping someday. "Yes, really." He answered her question with a slight grin, but felt a little insulted as she looked it up. Of course she would be checking what he said.. but he wasn't as stupid as he made it seem sometimes. "You know a lot more then me, just in different subjects. I tend to veer towards animals." Tyler commented, surprised he could make a kind of humble statement. The fact that he was a little happy he knew a little more about animals completely sizzled out those flames of hope, though

I am seriously impressed with how much you know lol Like I'm not really as clueless as Andi when it comes to animals but some of these facts your saying I'm actually fascinated by. I'm kind of working off a true story as well except I know a lot about animals but some of the questions I do ask get brushed off or called stupid just because they seem obvious haha) Of course he is XD)) ~ Andi glanced over at Tyler seeing his eyes droop, she figured he was starting to get tired and she was too but not from being bored suprisingly. She scooted closer to him and put her head on his shoulder as she looked out to the field just trying to spot anything that moved in the moonlight. "True but I'm not as smart as you may think I am. I know a lot but it's all just a handful of knowledge in different subjects." Andi added with a small smile a little happy about the fact Tyler said she knew a lot more than him which is somewhat true Edited at June 5, 2023 01:17 PM by The Ghost Barn

Yeah... I was nicknamed the walking encyclopedia ...)) Tyler felt rather humble there for a split second before he realized a small part of him was dancing with joy in knowing more then Andi XD)) - Tyler glanced at Andi as she scooted closer, a small smile on his face. She always noticed the tiniest things, like a half centimeter drop of an eyelid. -How- Tyler thought with a small chuckle. "Well what you do know has put my knowledge to shame many times, so be proud of that. Knowing a lot with animals only helps if you are like me, and want to spend the rest of your life lost in the forest." Tyler cracked a smile at this, leaning his head up against the wall with a slight sigh and staring up at the stars.
