Sage let Quinn sleep for a while, then once he knew they should get going again in the morning, he scooped her up in a way wouldn't wake her and got onto the horse as quietly as possible and nudged her forward. "Just do a gentle lope for now," he whispered to the mare, letting Quinn sort of just sleep on his chest as they went along. The mares canter was smooth though, so hopefully she'd get as much sleep as she needed to heal.

Quinn dozed until Sahara accidentally stumbled over a taller root. She wasn't jolted out of her sleep, but more like.. nudged. Quinn opened her eyes slowly, half surprised to see that she was on a horse and half annoyed Sage hadn't woken her up. "I can sleep anytime, you didn't have to not wake me up." Quinn grumbled quietly, but she was thankful. The sleep would be good for healing the wound, so she should be thanking Sage instead of rebuking him. "Thanks..." Quinn finally added, a slight smile coming to her face and her tone suggesting that she hadn't meant the first sentence.

Sage glanced down at Quinn when she woke and he chuckled slightly at her grumpy rebuke. He knew she didn't really mean it....her tone would have more venom to it if she were actually upset. But his grin only grew when she thanked him. It meant a lot when she said stuff like that, though he really wasn't sure why. "You needed the rest," he hummed. "You're welcome," he added happily.

Quinn was a bit annoyed at the grin on Sage's face, but she couldn't help the smile growing bigger on her own. The pain in her shoulder had mde her slightly tempermental, but her goofy personality still shone through. She glanced around at the woods flashing past, her emerald eyes lighting up slightly as the sound of a waterfall came into hearing. Quinn reached down and patted Sahara, a little thanks for the mare actually trying to help. "I didn't know you could be such a smooth ride until now. Thanks." Quinn teased, her eyes sparkling. Sahara snorted, tossing her mane but not changing her easy, slow canter.

Sage sort of just kept grinning goofily at the girl until he could see her smile too. He hated to see her unhappy, and if making her happy meant she was laughing at his expression or something, then he supposed he didn't mind so much. He chuckled slightly at her comment towards the horse and then looked over at the waterfall. "If there's a cave behind there and it's dry, it could be a good place to stop for the day," he noted. It would be clean and dry and hidden, and the horses could get up there too. He wasn't sure what else was in the area, but this would be a good place to sleep.

Quinn listened to what Sage said, nodding. She agreed with that idea... a nice, dry cave sounded nice right now. Quinn directed Sahara towards the sound of the waterfall, and it came into view rather quickly. She then hopped off and landed with a wince, but was too pleased to notice. Quinn could take a little swim and they could stay somewhere dry... if there was a cave. It was about 15 feet tall, a little waterfall, with a small, calm pool of water under it. Quinn walked around back and checked for a cave. After 5 minutes of looking she finally found a small, hidden path. Quinn edged along it because it was rather small, popping out into a small cave. -Yes- Quinn thought, since it was a dry medium sized cave

(Its all good) Sage bit back a yelp when Quinn hopped off the horse, scrambling off Sahara and half tripping over himself as he scurried over to follow Quuinn and make sure she was alright. He knew the girl could take care of herself, but he still wanted to make sure she was alright. She was hurt, and really quite possibly pregnant based off her smell, and he really just couldn't afford to lose her. He had to sort of hunch over and push himself through the tunnel, since his shoulders were much wider than hers, but was rather pleased to see a cave big enough for them and their basic needs. Then he saw Quinn and scurried over to her side, sort of looking around the cave but also keeping an eye on Quinn.

Quinn looked at Sage's expression and burst out laughing. "Can you not take your eyes off of me for 2 seconds? Am I that good looking?" she teased, looking overly amused. Quinn glanced around the cave again before squeezing back out the small entrance, stifling a giggle as she thought of how hard it probably was for Sage to fit through. She came out into the open sunlight again and went over to Sahara and Chaos, taking tack off and putting stuff away.

Sage snorted in response to Quinn's comment but gave her a grin. "Yeah," he chirped. "At least, when you're not bleeding out all over me," he he added, trying to tell her not to push herself and get hurt again, but by then she'd already bounced off again. He half groaned, half chuckled, and jogged back over to the little tunnel before starting to force his way through again. He lunged forward when he saw Quinn untacking the horses like nothing was wrong, but he was still in the tunnel, so he didn't really go anywere but into a wall. He grunted and regained his footing before squeezing through as fast as he could to go help.
