Quinn gazed at the birds that flitted past, recording in her mind which ones went in which trees and what species preferred what tree. Over time she leaned against Sage a little more, giving her shoulder a rest. Quinn couldn't see blood seeping through the bandaging yet, so that was good. She wondered when they would actual stop, if they would make camp again, and how many days they would travel before stopping for good. At least for more than a day.

Sage continued to zone until he noticed he was getting hungry and the horses could use a break. He keeps an eye out for a good spot to eat, and when he found a nice clearing he told the horses to stop. He unpacked what they needed and untracked the horses, helping Quinn over to a shady spot.

Quinn had about dozed off as they stopped, but the motion jolted her back awake. She was fully awake within seconds, leaning forward to give Sage enough room to hop off then doing the same. When Quinn hit the ground pain shot through her shoulder, making her wince slightly. That sure didn't feel good. She cast a little glance at Sage as he *helped* her over to a small shady spot under a tree, wishing she could cross her arms and give him *the talk* again. It was a shoulder injury, her legs still worked fine. "Thanks." Quinn finally said, the words coming out of her mouth literally the opposite of what she thought. Quinn then realized the full moon would be soon... darn it all. That wouldn't be fun. She leaned against the tree and pondered what to do for a moment, deciding to rest for a couple minutes before helping Sage.

Sage caught the girl's glance, but he could tell she was hurting, and he wanted to be able to help her out, even if it was just a little bit. He didn't have much to do, so he just unpacked the horses and dropped the stuff on the ground and got food and water before wandering back to Quinn. He figured she'd try to get up and help, and he didn't want her to...she needed to rest. (Bit short, I'm getting over a nasty migraine lol)

(Ouch, that must not feel good) - Quinn stayed silent and still... mostly because she was smart enough to know if she got up Sage would push her right back down. When he was done and came back, she watched him for a second before sighing. "I hate being useless." Quinn grumbled. She knew she could help do stuff, but it would end in bad things like her wound unclotting, and lots of pain. She let out a breath and wished she could cross her arms, but knew that would just bring more pain.

(it's all good. And no, it really wasn't. I scared my .om to death bc I'm usually the one who is like throwing up and will still be like 'k time for school' and she walked in on me curled up on the ground sobbing lmao) Sage snorted and plopped down next to her. "Yeah I know, but if you break yourself again you'll be useless for longer," he pointed out. He put the bag of food in between them and nibbled on some jerky, putting the cup of water down in between them too. "Besides, there wasn't really much to do," he admitted.

Quinn knew Sage had gone through the exact same thing, so afterward she felt bad for grumbling. "I don't just break..." She couldn't help but protest, a wry smile coming to her face. "I did not *break* myself, I cut myself. There is a difference." Quinn confirmed with a joking, haughty sniff. She offered Sage a small smile to show she was joking before taking a sip of water. Quinn never really appreciated water until now, when it felt like a reviving river of cool life flowing down her parched throat. -I didn't really realize I was that thirsty- She thought, gazing at Sahara for a moment. As a twig cracked, Quinn just about jumped out of her skin and shot sideways, almost smashing Sage into a tree. "Sorry..." She said sheepishly after realizing it was just a rabbit hopping through the forest. Quinn felt so on edge and jumpy... when she was unconscious... after she had been attacked. The same thing had happened after Sage had been attacked, but it had wore off.

Sage chuckled lightly and nodded in agreement. "No, you just pointy," he chuckled, joking around about the girls haughty sniff a bit. They were just playing though, and he knew that. He dug into the food eagerly...now that the moon was starting to go back to a full moon he was constantly starving. It just happened that way...the week of the full moon he ate everything he could. He did leave enough for Quinn though ...she needed food too. He filled himself up for the moment being with water once he'd finished eating. Though, he practically jumped out of his own skin when Quinn startled. "It's alright," he hummed, patting her uninjured shoulder gently. He still jumped when he heard anything loud, like a gun shot....he wished she was abe to calm down since worrying was hard, but he certainly wasn't going to judge her.

Quinn nodded slightly at Sage's words, settling back against the tree... but being more tense now. Her emerald gaze flitted around the trees, scanning each one before falling on Sahara again. The mare looked completely at ease, quite pleased feeding on grass. Quinn was happy at least someone in their small *family* felt happy. With that thought she started to feel more weary and tired as the sun set, and the tired feeling trumped her small naggings of hunger. Quinn couldn't help but drift off, her eyes drifting shut.
