Quinn finally willed her brain to wake up, and the throbbing pain in her shoulder helped. She slowly opened her eyes with a slight sigh, waking up fully and half sitting up. They were still moving, thankfully. The first thing she did was reach a hand up to her shoulder and make sure the wound was still okay, which it was. "How far do you think we've gone?" Quinn asked slowly, still sounding a little groggy but waking up quickly

Sage focused on just making sure Quinn stayed comfortable and Sahara stayed on course for a while. When he felt her shift, he made sure Sahara was on course still and then looked down at her with a slight smile. "Little over ten miles," he chirped. "you've been out for a while," he hummed. "Feel any better?" He cocked his head curiously, face definitely still worried about her.

Quinn nodded at what Sage said. At least he hadn't been making Sahara go slower or anything because Quinn was hurt. Every hoofbeat and jar sent pain shooting through her shoulder, but it held nothing against the feeling of whips cracking against her back. "Yes, I feel a little better. I'll be fine, you don't have to worry so much." Quinn sighed, though she knew he would worry anyway. She did the same exact thing... so she couldn't get mad at Sage for it.

Sage felt his shoulders relax slightly when she said she felt a bit better. "Good," he hummed. Then he grunted and rested his chin gently on her head. "It's my job to worry about you," he grumbled, though he wasn't upset at all, and she knew that. "Besides there's nothing else to do at the moment," he joked lightly.

Quinn sighed slightly at his answer, though she couldn't help a small chuckle at his last sentence. Which then led to a wince, because chuckling obviously sent bolts of pain through her shoulder. "You could look at the scenery." Quinn pointed out with a grin, knowing that was probably the last thing Sage was going to think about.

Sage pouted slightly at the girl's last comment, then his face changed into a more mischievous look. "You're the best scenery there is," he teased her lightly. Then he shrugged. "It's all trees. Not much to see going this fast," he pointed out. "I can only count so many trees before I go bonkers," he hummed in amusement.

"That was a nice comeback, I compliment you." Quinn grinned. "Oh wait, you go crazy when you count trees? Fine, jot down in your mind what species they are and an estimate of how tall they are before having a mental contest of the tallest tree. Just a suggestion." She added simply, chuckling. Quinn used to ride... a lot... and she would sit for hours on end with not much to do. With her brain she had adapted many ways to get over boredom.

Sage chuckled lightly and shrugged. "Well it's true. You're far more interesting to look at than a bunch of oak trees," he mused. Then he grunted I'm thought before peering back out over at the forest. "That makes sense I suppose," he admitted. It was always go go go for him, even out in the woods, so he definitely wasn't used to boredom. He'd have to just get used to it he supposed.

Quinn gasped, looking at Sage. "These aren't all oak trees! There are so many more than that." She huffed, though a grin cracked her face. "Oh, I accept the compliment. Thanks." Quinn chuckled, pleased the teasing and joking was taking her mind off the pain searing through her shoulder.

Sage chuckled lightly and shrugged. "Well, it's mostly oak," he huffed. "And we are going fast." Then he shrugged. "And I'm not paying attention to what they actually are," he admitted with a chuckle. She seemed happier when he was joking around though, so he decided to just keep acting like a goofball and help her out. "Hey, do you think now is a good time to tease Sahara? She can't buck me off since you're here and hurt," he giggled lightly.
