Caelan caught her hand, gently pulling her to sit in his lap. "It's quite alright, darling" He said softly, wrapping his arms loosely around her. "She keeps me around to distract my father from her. Adele tensed a little, then gave in and realxed in Caelan's hands. She listened to his story, partially glad he wasn't mad at her and partially concerned for his wellbeing and home. "That sounds really awful... Before, I think I remember you say that your father was going to die any day. Unless I misheard you?" |

"No, he is. He's growing sick and only able to look even half well in front of public. Outside of meals and meetings, he's in bed, wasting away until I can take over" |

Adele didn't have anything to say to that, so she cleared her throat and stood up, then said, "Well, you're right. We should probably go." She grabbed her blankets and headed towards the horses. |
